TCRW Soho, London
Some places just have their own rhythm the minute you walk in and this three bedroom apartment at TCRW Soho in Central London does that right away. I found myself just stopping in the entry for a second letting it all settle in. The light here hits you first. Honestly, sometimes you almost forget just how bright and open a London apartment can feel. This is on the fifth floor so you get a sense of calm right above Dean Street. You hear that gentle hum of the city underneath but it is all softer up here. There is a careful way everything is put together. You notice it in the oak finish of the doors as you step down the hallway or in how the high ceilings never make anything feel cramped. I loved how the lighting tucks up around the edge so it moves with you as you head from the living area into the bedrooms or even out on a grey London morning.
Southeast facing means mornings are special here. You get that proper golden sunrise through the big living room windows. I actually stood there for a bit with a cup of coffee and caught people heading out to work below. Watch a bit of Soho come alive from up here and it is not a bad way to start the day. The kitchen is one of those rare ones that feels like someone actually cooked in it. I am not talking about just heating up something quick. There are Miele appliances built in so making a real meal is easy. The stone worktop is roomy and you can tell someone thought about where you would want to chop and spread things out. The splashback is more than just a wall. It actually draws your eye a bit like a piece of art.
While I was there I started imagining cooking with the window open and catching little bits of city life outside. It just feels inspiring. Plus you have fibre broadband already running so working from home or streaming movies is sorted. I tried out the cooling system and even on those rare warm London afternoons it stays comfortable.
In the bedrooms you notice really simple comforts. Those sliding wardrobe doors keep a soft oak tone that matches the rest of the flat and when you open them the lighting inside is subtle but practical. It actually helps you see exactly what is there without hunting around. Storage just works here. It is one of those things that seems small but makes a difference. If you wander into the master bedroom, the en suite looks and feels a bit like a boutique hotel. Marble style tiles, vanities that look proper, and there is even a Geberit washlet. It is one of those details you do not know you missed until you have it for yourself.
I guess the real thing about living at TCRW Soho is that you feel part of what makes London tick but you still have your own pause button. Right outside your door you find the best bits of Soho and Fitzrovia. Oxford Street is just a quick walk and the tucked away coffee spots in Soho Square are even closer. I saw loads of students around in the mornings with takeaway coffee, since the universities are not far. If you need to get anywhere fast, Tottenham Court Road Crossrail is pretty much around the corner. With the Elizabeth, Central, and Northern lines all right there you basically never have to rush for a train.
The building itself just feels solid and safe. There is a twenty four hour concierge and the entry uses keyless access, which honestly is such a quiet convenience. You do get a kind of privacy here that is rare with this much city life right outside. Sometimes the only real way to figure out if a place is for you is to see the little details for yourself, like how the programmable lighting lets you set the mood or just how nice a quiet breakfast feels while the city wakes up below.
