Some homes greet you differently and this two bedroom apartment at Anantara Residences on Palm Jumeirah absolutely does that. You walk in and there is this mellow hush like the sound gets somehow softer inside. Not many places feel like this if I am honest. The sunlight just lands right where it should across a living room that feels big enough to just wander through a little. I caught myself just standing at the window for a while not because I was supposed to but because you can actually see the palm tops and a glimpse of blue beyond. Even the air feels a touch lighter in here.

You will see right away that the way everything is set out feels considered. The kitchen is not just big for show it is actually somewhere you would cook. Real spices and not just a coffee machine in the corner unless you want one. Tiles that are easy on the feet and cabinets that feel solid when you open them. There are two bedrooms and both are set up just the way you would want them if you like sleep and a bit of quiet. The principal bedroom seems to take in those sunrise colors almost every morning. Maybe it is just the easy way the rooms link up or maybe it is the way the building is put together. I have seen lots of places in Palm Jumeirah but not every corner gives you that familiar comfortable feel. This one just does.

The thing about living at Anantara is you are close to everything people actually love about Palm Jumeirah but it is also a bit tucked in. You can wander down to the pool or sneak over to the private beach. Sometimes you catch kids skipping stones by the edge. Most mornings there is someone jogging quietly before the world wakes up. And to be honest when you step outside the first thing you might notice is the way salt from the sea sits on the air. There is a hotel feel because of the resort side of Anantara but you get to call it home. The gym is real not just a treadmill and a couple weights. The spa is there for the days when you are not in a rush. Plus the best thing is, the coffee shop is never far. I have watched people do their whole workday with a laptop here.

If you ever need to leave the island even that feels easy. The main road is close but not close enough that you get all the noise. You are maybe twenty minutes from the city center depending on traffic. Groceries are simple to get. Friends who visit probably will not want to leave and taxi drivers already know the address.

There is something about being part of Palm Jumeirah. People look for that feeling of living somewhere everyone else talks about but hardly anyone actually knows. Maybe it is just the little things. The walks by the water. The evenings when you feel like you are somewhere else but home at the same time. I guess you only really know if it fits when you walk through yourself.
