Casa Nella Collina, Florence
Some places just slow you down in the best way. This seven bedroom country house at Casa nella Collina really had that effect on me when I visited. Maybe it is the classic brick and wood in every room or just the way the Tuscan hills roll away outside your window. You can tell right away it will be quiet here. I found myself just standing by the big window in the kitchen for a minute and watching the clouds shift across the vineyards. It sounds like something out of a film honestly but here it is.
Casa nella Collina sits up on a hillside over Greve in the Florence countryside. If panoramic views matter to you this place has some of the best. I have seen plenty of landscape photos but the way the sun rises and drops over these valleys and olive groves still catches me out. Early mornings just begin slow here there is not much sound except for a few birds or maybe the wind on calm days. When the light is right the hills really look golden and you can see why people fall in love with this part of Tuscany. And while you get all that privacy and the feeling of being a world away the road into Greve is actually not far at all so breakfast croissants and good coffee are always within reach.
Inside it is just full of those old touches you probably hope for in a Tuscan villa. Heavy beams in the ceiling old masonry and details you just do not find in new homes. The main villa has three bedrooms and I swear mornings seem to start a little slower here even if you are used to city noise. The heating works better than you might expect too combined with a modern system and an authentic wood burning stove. Cold winters just do not bite here they are kind of soft instead. I kept thinking it would be a special place for big family meals or just to read by the stove when the nights get cold.
Beside the main house there is another building with a handful of apartments. If you have guests or maybe want a bit of extra privacy that works out well. Those apartments carry the same traditional feeling with exposed brick and old wood. Even the small studio does not feel cramped which is nice for visiting friends or if you fancy hosting short stays now and again. I have seen lots of these annexes over the years and most are a bit dark but these feel genuinely airy and usable. You will notice there is always enough space for everyone and nobody gets shoved in a corner.
When you walk outside you really start to feel how much land there is here. The gardens are not just for looking at you actually want to wander through them. I found these hidden patios where you could imagine sitting all evening with a bottle of local wine. The barbecue is set up right where you want it to be near the main house so dinner outside starts to feel like the best way to end every day. The pool uses a saltwater system and I will say the water feels kinder on your skin. From there honestly you kind of forget everything because your view is just endless hills and trees. Sunset by the pool is hard to beat especially as the last light hits the valley.
If you have ever wanted a bit of your own land in the Florence hills this place actually lets you live that way. Olive groves spread out across much of the plot and there is a slice of vineyard too. Sometimes you get that earthy air after rain and it smells different that is hard to explain until you are there. And sometimes in the evenings you might hear voices drifting up or spot some kids on their bikes heading into town.
If you are searching for a classic Florence villa with panoramic views real land and space for family or guests this is one to see. Kitchens you will actually cook in and rooms that invite you to slow down are just the start. It is hard to capture the feeling of Casa nella Collina in words honestly. If you want to walk through or just ask questions I am always here. At LuxuryProperty dot com we try to keep things as comfortable as possible because moving should feel easy not stressful. Come see if it fits.
