1 JBR, Jumeirah Beach Residence
Some homes surprise you the instant you walk through the door. This place at 1 JBR really stops you in your tracks. You step right out of the elevator and it opens straight into the space, like you are arriving at your own private world in the sky. And you sort of want to just look around, slowly, before doing anything else. The views pull you forward. It is the upper floor of a tower that already sits front row to the sand, so from just about every room, you get that broad blue Arabian Gulf, Palm Jumeirah stretching out, and Bluewaters Island off to the side. You actually see the city go quiet at sundown from the big windows. The first time I stood by them, I just watched the lights come up along the shore, which probably sounds odd, but honestly it is peaceful up here, above it all.
It is a full floor penthouse. Not something you come by often in Dubai. Each spot in the five bedrooms somehow feels a bit different. You walk the main corridor and there is sunlight the whole way, even inside. Nothing cramped. The design is pale and honest, mostly white on the walls, but there are these deep wood closets and shelves so it does not feel too cold. Kitchens and bathrooms are a bit darker, with shiny tiles that catch the morning light. The kitchen is more than just for looks. I mean you could actually cook up a proper meal. There is a big seating island, plenty of cabinets, and even from here you catch a slice of the sea.
There are two main places to gather. One is a formal living and dining area, it has a sort of quiet energy, perfect for a slow dinner when friends are visiting, and a bar tucked nearby. The other is a double sized lounge, you feel it open right out to the balcony with your own private pool. On certain days, with the doors open, you smell the ocean. Sometimes I like to pause a second here and imagine what it would feel like to read by the pool with just the sound of water and wind. Actually, the living room and the kitchen both spill out onto another long balcony too, so you are never far from fresh air. On a Friday morning, it would be perfect for coffee, with no rush to leave.
Every bedroom has its own bathroom, so there is no fighting for space, and tons of built in storage. One bedroom has a walk in closet that is almost room sized. If you have a live in helper or guests, there is a separate en suite maid's room set right off the corridor, along with laundry and two guest bathrooms so no one is squeezing for time. There is even a fitness room tucked away off the hallway. The master suite is at the very end, taking two corners and loads of privacy. You get his and hers walk in closets, sinks, and a bathroom that just feels complete. What surprised me was the office attached to it, with its own bathroom, which is clever if you need to work from home or just need a quiet escape.
Living at 1 JBR means you step down to a private beach whenever you like. You can go downstairs for a swim in the podium level infinity pool or train in the gym. The terraces around the building are all landscaped, and sometimes you see kids kicking a ball or families just spending time outside. Wandering down to JBR boardwalk is too easy, especially if you want a good coffee or to try someplace new for dinner. Plus, Dubai Marina is just next door if you want to shop or take out the boat.
You probably already know, but penthouses like this are about as rare as it gets in Jumeirah Beach Residence. The feel of it, up high with all that open space and sky, is really something. Photos are just for illustration, of course, it is the breath of the place that gets you. If you want to see if it feels like your next home, come have a look. Reach out anytime. At LuxuryProperty.com, we like to make your move here feel as comfortable as we can.
