The Opus, Business Bay
Some homes really just leave you with this mixed up feeling of calm and awe as soon as you walk in. That was me stepping into this four bedroom penthouse at The Opus by Omniyat in Business Bay. It sits right at the top of the building and the funny thing is you almost forget you are in one of Dubai's busiest spots once you are inside. The front door opens and the light just floods in like the lights are always turned up a notch more than everywhere else. That is probably because all the walls are glass and honestly most days I would probably end up just leaning by one of those windows and even catching a sunset or the lights on Burj Khalifa in the evening.
Everything here feels huge but not in a cold way. The floor space is about twelve thousand square feet which is more than you honestly know what to do with at first. There is so much of Zaha Hadid's style in the curves all around the place. There are no sharp corners and the way everything sort of flows into itself actually makes it more welcoming than most modern penthouses I have been inside. You do not just notice the size you feel the effort behind every bit of design. Even the kitchen is something you would want to cook in even if you actually have a chef on most days. The marble counters are cool to the touch and the cupboards just work so well with the style. There is a dining area that is open next to it so you never feel like the cook is shut away from everything and everyone else.
Out on the terraces which wrap around the place you get this big view that just keeps changing through the day. I stood for a while and watched the sunlight bounce off the canal and then catch the skyline as everything turned gold. These are not just little balconies either. Each of the four bedrooms gets their own bit of outside space which is rare. The master is honestly something else. It has double ceilings so you wake up feeling like you are in your own gallery. The bathroom is spa like and I mean actually somewhere you might stay awhile longer because everything is just peaceful. The city feels far away even though you are truly in the center of everything.
The residence is private and secure. A lift takes you straight up into your own foyer so you never have to worry much about bumping into people unless you want to head down to the hotel for coffee or dinner. You even get your own garage space for a whole collection. I know a lot of people in Dubai love their cars. You could genuinely keep twelve if you cared to. Whenever I visit The Opus the feeling I get is always a bit of excitement just seeing what new place has opened downstairs or if there is new art showing up in the lobby. You are never too far from a good meal or a chat over great coffee. It is almost its own hidden world behind that crazy sculptured glass.
The extra perks you get here take living up quite a few notches. Hotel services actually make life easier but do not take away your privacy. There's always concierge around if you need something and security there but never in your face either. A swim after a long day in a pool where the water is exactly right. The gym is bright with good equipment and even if you just want to step outside there is plenty to explore in Business Bay. Sometimes you see families out for ice cream or people walking their dogs early before it gets warm.
Even though this penthouse is everything about high design and exclusive living it still really feels like a home. You could have friends for dinner or just a quiet night in with the city lights outside. It is not something you come across often. I always tell people that the only way to know if it feels right is to walk around and take it in yourself. If you are even a little bit curious or have questions let me know. You can reach out any time. We always try to make the next step as comfortable as we can at LuxuryProperty.com. Sometimes these places are just waiting for the right person to step inside.
