35 Hudson Yards, New York
Some homes just have a certain feel as soon as you step inside. This four bedroom apartment at 35 Hudson Yards, right in the heart of New York, really does that. I walked in, and honestly, the world just got quieter for a second. Every room here points your eyes right out to these crazy beautiful Hudson River views, the kind you could get lost in for a while if you let yourself.
The ceilings are high, almost eleven feet, which really makes everything feel open. You just breathe easier in a space like this. The floors caught my eye straight away too. They are wide plank French oak with this pale, gentle finish. It makes the light from the city feel softer somehow. Even when the day is overcast or loud outside, it still just feels peaceful.
I found myself just standing by one of the big corner windows for a while. Below, you can see boats drifting down the Hudson and the pulsing energy of the neighborhood, but up here it almost feels like your own separate slice of the city. If you like to have friends over, the great room and the dining area feel like they were meant for just that. There's enough room for everyone to be together, and even after a long day it never feels cramped.
The kitchen is actually one of my favorite spots, maybe because I love to cook, or at least pretend to. This one is more than just for heating up takeout. The cabinets are made by Smallbone of Devizes, they look and feel solid under your hand. Then you get this opal white marble all across the counters, you can actually picture rolling out dough for a pie, or just standing with a coffee and watching the city change colors in the morning. There is a Gaggenau wine fridge tucked in, and the appliances are as good as they get. Even the coffee is taken care of.
You'll also notice the master suite is more like its own apartment. Two walk in closets, so no more struggling for storage, and a bathroom that, to be honest, feels like a fancy hotel. The tub is deep enough for a proper soak, and even the vanity has these cool Kinon panels. The best thing is you do not have to even give up a view to have all that privacy and calm.
The whole building is special. Designed by David Childs, so the lines are classic without feeling old. The exterior is real Bavarian limestone and you do feel a sort of quiet grandeur when you arrive. Inside, Tony Ingrao did the interiors and you can tell. Nothing here screams for attention, but it all just works. It is above the Equinox Hotel, which means, if fitness or wellness is your thing, you barely have to go anywhere. You can just take the elevator right down and swim in either pool or maybe book a yoga class. There is even SoulCycle if you ever feel like burning off some energy, and the Electric Lemon restaurant downstairs is a popular spot for brunch or late night snacks.
I like that you forget you are in the middle of Manhattan sometimes, but when you want to step out, the Public Square and Gardens are right there. There is always something happening just outside the door. If shopping or eating out is more your style, Hudson Yards and West Chelsea have everything from cozy coffee shops to high end designer spots. Sometimes you see families walking dogs in the morning or friends just chatting on the terrace in the evening after work.
What makes it even easier is all the resident perks. You get preferred reservations at places, even in-residence dining if you do not feel like heading out. For working from home, the business center is quiet and actually feels grown up, and there are private lounges and a screening room for movies, even a spot to practice your golf swing.
It is hard to capture the whole feeling from words or pictures honestly. Sometimes you just need to stand by those windows or listen to how quiet the bedrooms feel. The only way to know if it feels right is to come see it. If you have questions or just want to walk through, reach out any time. At LuxuryProperty dot com, we try to make your next move feel as comfortable as possible.
