Les Vagues by Elie Saab, Qetaifan
Some places make you hit pause as soon as you open the door. This two bedroom apartment at Les Vagues by Elie Saab actually did that for me. I stepped inside and instantly felt the kind of calm you get after a long busy day when you finally settle in and look around at home. You kind of want to take a slow walk from the front to the balcony just to see how the light moves around the rooms. Sometimes you might hear the sea breeze outside and realize you are just steps from the water. That is the feeling this place gives you.
Honestly the living area is where you really start to notice what makes this place different. There is a stretch of floor to ceiling windows that pour in light all day and if you go over by the glass you can actually see the color of the sea change as the afternoon turns into evening. The open plan means the kitchen and the dining area are all together so no one feels stuck off in the background when you have people over. Actually the kitchen feels like you would cook here for real not just warm up leftovers. It has that new apartment smell and the finishes are done so well you almost do not want to put things on the counters just yet.
Elie Saab did not hold back when designing Les Vagues. This apartment is full of little things that show it is a branded home. There are marble touches in the bathroom and noble stones near the entry. The bronze accents are just enough to make the rooms feel warm, never showy. Everything is done in these calm neutral colors. Sometimes you will just run your hand over the walls or the counter and notice how solid and smooth it all is. The bedrooms are not just for sleeping either. You could wake up, open the curtains, and get the kind of view that always reminds you where you live. Actually I just stood by the window in one of the bedrooms for a bit and watched the city in the distance and thought about how quiet it was compared to downtown.
The balcony is going to get a lot of use if you live here. You can set out a couple of chairs, maybe some plants, and most days just have coffee looking out at the sea. It does not feel crowded here either. Even with the doors open you get all these wide open vibes that make the apartment feel more spacious than it looks on paper. The sea seems so close that sometimes you even hear gulls in the background.
Living in Les Vagues by Elie Saab means it is not just the apartment you are getting. You have private beaches within walking distance. You also get access to a few high end resorts, little clubhouses for winding down and really nice boutique shopping when you want something unique. There is even a winter garden for when you want to escape the summer heat for a bit. And if you are into boating, the marina here is one of those places where you might want to just sit for a while even if you do not own a boat.
Qetaifan Island North really feels like a world away from city rush but honestly it is not far from anywhere. Lusail is just about ten minutes away in the car and you can get to The Pearl or central Doha pretty quickly too. Even the airport is only half an hour or so when you need to travel. That balance is what makes this address feel sort of exclusive without ever feeling cut off or inconvenient.
Honestly the only way to know if all of this feels right is to see it in person. Sometimes you need to hear what the waves sound like out on the balcony or see how the rooms really feel late in the day. If any of this sounds interesting or you want to ask about something I missed, just let me know.
