The Highbury, Mohammed Bin Rashid City
Some homes just sort of slow you down in the best way as soon as you get inside. This one bedroom corner apartment at The Highbury by Ellington Properties in Mohammed Bin Rashid City feels a bit like that for me. I stood near the window for a while and watched the afternoon light bounce off the pool below. Honestly, you get this sense that everything is set up for living easy rather than just for show.
The place itself covers about eight hundred forty three square feet, but it feels even more open because of how the floor to ceiling windows stretch all across the corner. You are facing the pool on one side and you actually get a pretty good look out toward Meydan. Sometimes you can see the skyline peeking in the distance. That mix of city and resort feeling is pretty rare in Dubai and it just kind of works here.
The kitchen is open plan and blends right into the living area, which I always like because it means nobody is pushed off in a separate room. You could be making coffee or trying out a new recipe in the kitchen and still chat with whoever is relaxing on the sofa. The finishes are honestly quite modern and you can tell Ellington likes to do things with a bit more style than average. The space feels fresh but not cold.
Of course, the building is one of those places where the amenities are almost as much of a draw as the apartment itself. Up on the roof is a real infinity pool and deck area where people actually hang out, not just snap a photo once and leave. I saw a few neighbours relaxing there with coffees and even someone stretching out on a yoga mat. There is a dedicated fitness suite as well as different spa rooms for men and women so if you want a bit of quiet time, that is easy to find. If you have visitors with kids or maybe you like a dip yourself, you will notice a kid friendly splash pool area too. Just makes it feel a bit more like a community rather than an anonymous tower.
And you are not far from anything here. Dubai Design District, Downtown Dubai, all the restaurants and shops over in Burj Khalifa district, even Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary is quite close if you fancy a walk among the birds. There is almost always a coffee shop open nearby and sometimes you see families wandering out for the evening. You do not feel stranded or stuck in the middle of nowhere, even though the place itself feels calm. That balance is something a lot of people miss about city living.
I think what stands out most, though, is that The Highbury seems set up for the sort of people who actually want to make connections. When I visited, I bumped into a couple of residents chatting near the lifts and you could tell they actually knew each other, which is not always the case in apartment living. There are little lounge spots and garden patches, and honestly sometimes you forget it is a brand new building. It already feels lived in and easy.
Price wise, for a one bedroom apartment in Mohammed Bin Rashid City, especially with all the access to those amenities and such a central location, it might surprise you. The area is known for pretty strong investment returns and being in The Highbury by Ellington Properties only helps if you are thinking of future value as well as a home for now.
The truth is, reading about this apartment is never the same as actually walking through and getting a sense of the place for yourself.
