Queens Cross, Western Gateway, London
Some homes sit high above the city and just instantly pull you out of the rush. This one bedroom apartment up on the eighteenth floor at Queens Cross in London does exactly that. The lift doors open and for a second it is a little quieter. You notice this calm. I actually found myself just listening for a moment when I first stepped inside. Up here it feels like you have your own little world but the city is still just out there on your doorstep. That balance can be hard to find in East London these days.
Let me tell you what it is actually like. First off the space is clever. The apartment is just under six hundred square feet and it actually works really well whether you are a young professional or someone just wanting an easy city base. A lot of one beds feel cramped. This one just does not. When you walk in the windows are big and natural daylight kind of fills everything up. I stood by the main window for a while and watched these tiny boats moving on the river way below. Even on a typical cloudy London day it still feels bright in here. That is something you do not always get in similar buildings nearby.
The kitchen looks sharp but it also feels like somewhere you might actually chop a few vegetables or cook with friends instead of just reheating something. There are smart finishes throughout and the layout makes everything feel open without being cold. I get the sense that Mount Anvil spent time thinking about what makes a space livable and not just fancy for a brochure. Honestly I think this is a place where you will actually want to wake up and make coffee in the morning.
There is only one bedroom but it has a warm feel somehow. The main room gives you just enough space for a proper bed plus maybe a small desk if you are still working from home sometimes like so many people I meet. Storage is actually better than you would expect too. Sometimes with flats you end up living around your stuff because there is nowhere to hide it. Here it all tucks away neatly so it always feels tidy. I always notice when there are places to put suitcases and boxes. It just makes day to day living feel easier.
The building is right near Royal Victoria Dock so you get this sense of energy and movement outside but none of the noise comes up this high. Even though the DLR and the Elizabeth Line are both close you do not get that constant city rumble in your apartment. Getting from here to Canary Wharf or the West End takes barely any time at all. On weekends a lot of people jog along the dockside or you see families out walking. Sometimes I think it would be easy to forget how close you are to everything because the vibe here is a bit more relaxed than most city spots.
And the building itself is actually impressive. You get access to a rooftop running track which is rare. Up there you can see right across the river all the way toward Greenwich. There are gardens and a private lounge when you just want to read or maybe meet a neighbour. Concierge is on hand as well which just makes things simpler day to day. I noticed that a few folks living here chat easily in the lifts. It is the kind of place that seems to form its own small community. Afternoon sun on the rooftop is something special. You will see.
There are only a handful of these apartments being finished this October. London moves quickly but sometimes a place just feels right when you walk in. If you think it might suit your lifestyle or if you just want to get a sense of the views reach out any time. At LuxuryProperty.com we want your next move to feel comfortable and clear. Best way is to come and see the flat for yourself.
