Community Guide: Town Square

18 June 2020 Written by Staff Writer

Dubai has always been a haven for families who are seeking a new place to call home, a place where they can find the house of their dreams, lay down their roots and immerse themselves in a cosmopolitan community. Since the start of this year, the concept of ‘community’ and having a sanctuary from the world where you and your family can feel comfortable and secure has become more important than ever.

Town Square Community at its Core

1. Community at its Core

Developed by Nshama, Town Square is a community that is often heard about, but is perhaps not as well known as it should be. Spread over an area of more than 1.6 million square feet, Town Square is divided into 13 distinct projects, comprising a mix of low-rise apartment blocks and townhouse neighbourhoods set amidst richly landscaped gardens. But life at Town Square is not just about the homes, it really is about a sense of togetherness and a true feeling of community. At its centre is the Town Square Park, and there are several other parks that connect the various neighbourhoods to each other.

2. The Neighbourhoods

Currently, 1,300 townhouses are ready and some of them are already occupied. A further 700 townhouses are being released over the next few months so that by year-end, there will be 2,000 fully ready townhouses in the community. Each home features streamlined contemporary architecture, open plan interiors filled with light, and spacious backyards for spending quality family time.

3. Town Square Park

The literal and figurative heart of Town Square is the magnificent Town Square Park. It spans an area in excess of 500,000 sq ft, which is roughly the size of 7 or 8 professional football pitches, and offers a wide range of activities for the entire family to enjoy. The park is richly landscaped and contains several open green spaces and walking paths, as well as vibrant fountains and other water features. You can spend endless hours strolling through it as you take in the sights around you. For the kids, there is a train that goes around the park and there is a carousel at the centre of it, providing a unique attraction while creating a sense of nostalgia for parents.

4. Life at Town Square

An appreciation of the outdoors and all it has to offer are a key part of the lifestyle that Town Square represents. Aside from its main park, the community offers a variety of other parks to explore. These include a skateboarding park, a dog park, a water park, a splash pad area for children, a trampoline park, and a recreational park that contains a wave rider.

Indoor and outdoor cinemas are under development as part of the community’s entertainment offering, so that you can spend a night out at the movies with your family without having to venture too far from home.

Town Square will have schools and healthcare facilities within the community very soon, and it is in the catchment area of reputed institutions such as King’s School, Dwight College, Brighton College, Fulmark and GEMS Wellington. It is also very close to Mediclinic, King’s College Hospital and other world-class clinics.

Connectivity

5. Connectivity

Town Square sits along the southwest of the Dubailand district, which is rapidly becoming the new heart of Dubai and is an increasingly popular destination for families. It is at the intersection of Emirates Road and Al Qudra Road, two major thoroughfares that connect to other major highways, allowing for seamless travel throughout the city. You are looking at only a 15-minute drive to the beach, and 20 minutes to get into Downtown Dubai.
