Some places just slow you down a little when you walk in. That happened to me here at 1413 Biscaya Drive on Biscaya Island. I got to the front entrance and before I even opened the door I stopped because the water seemed to flicker all around the outside. There is something about waterfront living that feels more peaceful. This six bedroom villa kind of draws you in with that feeling and then keeps surprising you the longer you walk around.
So you come inside and right away what you really notice is how open everything feels. It was a bright afternoon when I last visited and the way the sunlight came in through these floor to ceiling windows almost made the pool and the water outside blend right into the living room. Honestly the ceilings are much higher than most homes you will see around Miami. Some spots it almost feels like you could launch a kite indoors and not get stuck.
The kitchen is something I have to mention because unlike a lot of places with fancy finishes this one just feels like somewhere you might actually want to cook breakfast for the family or lay stuff out for a group of friends after a long day. Custom island is huge and I kept thinking it would be a good spot to sit and talk over coffee in the mornings. Subzero and Wolf appliances mean you are covered for anything you want to make even if it is just a sandwich after school. There is as much storage as you could want so you are never shuffling pans around to look for space.
All the bedrooms have their own bathrooms which is nice. It makes mornings a lot less hectic. You do not have to worry about lining up for the shower and if you want some privacy just close the door and you get your own retreat. The master is bigger than you would expect with views right out over the water plus some of the best closet space I have seen in this part of Florida. Tried out the window seat for a bit and you forget your phone real fast with the way the sun hits the water in the early evening.
This villa is really about enjoying the outdoors too. Every part of it connects back to the water or the gardens and honestly you might spend more time outside than in. There is a big rooftop terrace and a sun deck where you can look out over Biscaya Island or just lie back with a book for a couple of hours.
The pool is infinity edge and just sort of slips into the bay. It has a jacuzzi at one end so some nights you can just sit there and watch the boats come in. If you have one yourself there is a private dock and even if you do not you are only a couple steps from neighborhoods where you always see people paddling out or fishing in the afternoons.
The neighborhood here feels private without being far off. There are good schools nearby so you see families out walking a lot and the Bal Harbour Shops are only a little way away which is great for a coffee or just wandering around on a Sunday. The Four Seasons Surf Club is almost as close and honestly sometimes you can just smell the ocean in the air.
One thing I really liked is how easy this house makes entertaining. There is an outdoor summer kitchen right by the pool and rooftop. Plenty of space to have friends or family over for a barbecue while the kids swim. At night it goes quiet pretty quick and you can hear the water all the way from the bedrooms.
It is hard to say in words how a place feels. The best is just to come see for yourself. Let me know if you have any questions or if you want to take a walk through the villa. We are here at LuxuryProperty com to make your move feel as easy as possible.
