Some homes really do slow you down as soon as you walk in. This particular villa on Allison Island feels like that for me. It sits right by the water and you can almost feel the breeze get softer the second you step inside. I spent a few minutes just looking at the light pouring through the windows and honestly the quiet here is a little surprising given how close you are to everything in Miami.
Even if you know Miami pretty well you probably know Allison Island is something a bit special. It sits tucked away but right in the middle of things and when you stand out back in this west facing spot you get such an open view across the bay. I caught myself just watching the clouds float by for a while and I imagine the sunsets here are something you never get tired of. That open water stretches all across the back of the villa. The lot is around half an acre which is rare anywhere but especially here. You get about a hundred feet of that water view all to yourself.
Inside feels at ease. Double height ceilings keep it bright and there are these sun filled corners that make you want to just stop and sit for a bit. I really liked the way light moves through the rooms. There are four bedrooms and an office so, whether you're working from home or just like your quiet time, there's more than enough space to spread out. The office actually feels tucked away enough to work there for real, not just for show. Each bedroom has its own feel—nothing cookie cutter—which makes hosting guests here work really well. There are four full bathrooms and a couple of guest baths so no one's bumping elbows in the mornings. You notice small comforts like how the spaces just seem to fit together easily, nothing forced.
If you actually like to cook, this kitchen invites you in. Sometimes luxury kitchens feel a bit untouched but this one seems ready for Saturday night dinners or just a quick breakfast before heading out. The living area has these wide glass doors that open up right to the backyard and honestly it just draws you out to the water. It's the kind of place where you can see kids scooting off to ride their bikes in the evenings and you can wave at your neighbors driving by on their boats.
That new three car garage is pretty handy too. Whether you collect cars or just want every bit of easy storage, it feels like there's more than enough room for all the bits of life everybody brings with them. Plus with only forty nine waterfront homes in this gated part of Allison Island, you do get a real sense of privacy. The gates give you that quiet peace of mind, but you're still just minutes from places like Sunset Harbour and some of the best coffee shops in Miami. The famous Bal Harbour Shops aren't far too if shopping is your thing and the La Gorce country club is practically next door for a game or a lunch with friends.
You're on the edge of all Miami's best bits but you honestly might find yourself spending more time at home. There's space to be together, space to be alone. Space for big family gatherings and space to just have a little peace. Something about this place doesn't feel over the top, it just feels right.
If any of that sounds good, maybe come and see it for yourself. The only way to really get the feel is to walk around your future home and see if it fits you.
