Some homes honestly just make you pause for a second at the door. This five bedroom villa at 3300 Chase Ave in Miami Beach kind of does that. You get this subtle sense of calm the minute you walk in. Maybe it is the way the sunlight hits that big open living room or maybe it is the green from the golf club across the street. I am not sure which does it first but you do notice.
The setting here is special. You have the Biscayne Waterway going right behind the house so there is water as far as the eye can see and boats sometimes go drifting by. Out front it is the Miami Beach Golf Club so every window on that side either peeks at wide open greens or catches the sun coming up over palm trees. You even hear a bit of birdsong if you pop open a window up early. Some mornings just feel perfect.
Designed by Cheoff Levy Fishman who is pretty well known around here this home wants to be lived in but also wants to play host. I mean you feel it. When you step into the living room with those tall ceilings stretching up above you my first thought was this would be a fantastic spot to just curl up with a cup of coffee and let your mind wander. Or honestly just put friends together here on the weekends and not worry about space running out. The dining room is huge and close enough to the water that you may catch the sunlight twinkling on the Biscayne if you time your dinner right.
The whole place kind of blurs the line between indoors and out. What I like is that you can walk from the front all the way through to the back without feeling like you even left the garden because of all the glass and open air. People call it contemporary but it is more than that honestly it just feels easy and nothing interrupts the views or the sunsets. The kitchen is one of those true chef setups not just for show. Heavyweight Wolf and Subzero appliances good marble counters that feel cool to the touch and honestly it is somewhere you might actually try cooking something new in just for fun. When you see it in person you might picture hanging out on a quiet morning with pancakes sizzling and not just grabbing a snack on the go.
Then there is the family room. It has its own little pavilion feel which is nice when you want a bit of separation from the main living area. Someone could easily sneak off with a book or just put the football on and not hear much from the kitchen.
The outside hits differently in Miami and this pool does it right. It has a baja shelf which if you have never tried it basically means you can lounge in the water with just your feet in or bring a little one out to splash around safely. There is a summer kitchen so when friends are over you are grilling and still part of the action. Everything is set into this big ipe wood deck and when the breeze picks up from the ocean it cools everything off even in the evenings. Sometimes you catch those wild miami sunsets reflected right on the water.
Upstairs it opens up with a catwalk loft. The master suite is really its own retreat. You get two terraces up there and both feel private one has more of a view out to the water the other catches a bit of golf green. There are two dressing rooms so plenty of space to get ready and relax no matter how big your wardrobe might be. Even two water closets which honestly just makes mornings easier for everyone. When you get up early and see the light drift inside it is clear why people want to wake up here every day.
Miami Beach has all the things you would expect coffee shops dotted around even early risers out for a jog or kids on bikes as the sun goes down. The water is always nearby and the city can be as fast or as slow as you want.
