There is something about this five bedroom villa in Victory Heights, Dubai Sports City that just makes you want to linger for a moment at the door before stepping in. Maybe it is the way the trees sway quietly in the garden or how you catch the sound of birds while you wait for the gate to swing open. I have been in a lot of homes around here and honestly this one feels different right from the start.

You come up the path and you can see the golf course off in the distance. Sometimes in the morning, the mist almost makes it look like a painting. The Calida neighbourhood is calm and settled with grown trees and wide streets that remind you life can slow down if you let it. You are a short walk from the Els Club which is a favourite for all the neighbours who have been here a while. Some of them play golf but most just stop for coffee on the terrace and talk about their day. The freshly renovated community pool is close enough that you really could wander over in your flip flops if you felt like it and there is a small park tucked just where it feels private enough for the kids but easy enough to let them have a bit of freedom.

When you first walk inside this villa the space sort of opens up all around you. To your left what used to be a formal room actually feels more like somewhere you would want to let the kids spread out with their blocks or just have everyone sit together for a change. Sometimes formal living rooms just gather dust but this one feels like a real part of the home. If you keep moving you notice the living area is bigger than you expected, and there is loads of sunlight that bounces off the wooden floors which have all been redone recently. You can tell it right away.

Honestly one of my favourite details is how the living area sort of melts into the view of the pool and the golf course just beyond the big windows. A lot of people love these ground floor spaces because you can keep an eye on the backyard while cooking or even just reading a book on the sofa. Speaking of the kitchen, a lot of places claim to be made for serious cooks but this one has actually had extra cupboard space added. You really can imagine someone baking fresh bread here, or just making breakfast without bumping into anyone else.

Every bedroom feels thoughtfully done, but it is the master that stands out for me. In the morning the balcony pulls you out to look at the sunrise over the fairways. It's quiet up there. The bathrooms are clean and modern with plenty of space for those days when everyone is in a rush.

Step outside for a second. The backyard is honestly one of the best parts of living here. There is a wooden covered sitting area where you end up wanting to host a barbecue or just gather together with friends on a Friday evening. The pool is covered so it stays cool all day and the jacuzzi is just fun on those rare chilly evenings Dubai gets in the winter months. I even saw a couple of kids biking by outside when I was here last and you get the feeling it really is safe and neighbourly.

The property itself is generous with about five thousand square feet on the plot and five bedrooms, plus a maid's room in case you need the extra help. Victory Heights, in Dubai Sports City, is known for being one of those neighbourhoods where families stay for years because it just feels easy and comfortable and you get to know the shops workers and the coffee spot people by name.
