Some homes slow you down a little when you walk in. This four bedroom villa in Sidra Villas at Dubai Hills Estate honestly did that for me. Maybe it is the way the sun comes in across the big windows or maybe just being right along the park. I actually stood for a bit at the entrance and just listened to the breeze, which sounds like something out of a travel magazine but really, it is nice.

Right outside you have an open green park so you will probably hear kids laughing or birds saying good morning before you even get to your front door. There is nothing in front of you except all that green and it just stretches out, which actually makes mornings here feel slower in the best way. If you need to get anywhere though, it is all close by. The Dubai Hills shopping mall is a quick drive and honestly one of those places where you can wander around for hours or just pop in for a coffee. The golf club is open now too and somehow makes the community feel even more relaxed. I have seen people out walking their dogs or meeting up for a run around this area and it shows how easy it is to feel settled here.

Inside, you have a ground floor that just works. Straight away there is this open plan living and kitchen space. It is big but it still feels homey, not too formal. The kitchen has an island with a breakfast bar so you can picture mornings with a quick coffee or kids doing homework while dinner is getting sorted. I liked how the counters are actually at a good height if you enjoy spending time here. Not everyone cooks these days but this kitchen actually feels like you might expect to. Sidra Villas has the best of Dubai Hills Estate right at its doorstep. You are a short walk from the community pool which always feels like an escape when the weather heats up plus the gym if you want to keep a routine going. Weekend afternoons, you will probably see folks playing tennis or even having a go on the basketball court. That is something you do not get everywhere in Dubai. It has a bit of a neighborhood feel and sometimes if you step out in the evening you will spot neighbors out walking or kids riding bikes along the pavements under the streetlights.

Getting to other parts of the city is pretty easy as well. You are halfway between Downtown Dubai and Dubai Marina so quick drives are normal here. I find that you are never too far from what you need but coming home always feels like you have stepped away from the busyness of the city. The impressive thing about Dubai Hills Estate is how it manages to feel like a small community while still being right in the heart of Dubai.
