Some homes just sort of ask you to pause when you first open the door. This five bedroom penthouse in Murjan over at Jumeirah Beach Residence is exactly like that. I found myself standing in the main living area with these floor to ceiling windows and, honestly, you can see everything from the sea to Palm Jumeirah to Bluewaters in one sweep. The sun hits just right in the mornings and you really feel like you're living at the top of the city. I even caught a sailboat drifting by while I was there and, for a minute, forgot I was actually here for work.
There is a sense of ease about the place, which is not always true with apartments this size. All five thousand square feet have been completely reworked with an eye for both style and practicality. You have proper oak floors underfoot and nothing feels too fussy or overdone. The walls have these sleek Italian concrete finishes, a look you would usually see in magazines but it fits the light and the space here. It is also laid out facing south and east, which means when you make your coffee in the morning the whole place glows and it stays bright through most of the day.
Life happens in the open plan kitchen, dining and living areas. You get a feeling that this is a spot for big gatherings but it does not lose its calm feel if you are just relaxing with your family. Someone who is into cooking would really notice the kitchen. It does not just look good, it actually feels built for someone who cooks quite a bit. The appliances are Miele, so everything from the fridge to the sous vide kit is at your fingertips and the cabinets close quietly, which is just something you do not appreciate until you have it. Plus the Dekton countertops have this cool, solid touch and you do not have to be gentle about setting down coffee cups or hot pans.
Bedrooms are tucked down a long corridor that is almost like a gallery. I wandered through and opened up a few wardrobes just to check the storage. There is loads of built in space, and four out of five bedrooms have bathrooms straight out of a boutique hotel. I noticed the taps and showers are all from Bagno Design. The guest bedroom would work really well for visitors or maybe as an office if you do not need all five for sleeping.
The terrace will have you coming back outside, though. It is huge, honestly a whole extra living space on its own. I imagined having breakfast out there or a proper barbecue night with friends. The private pool is the kind of thing you get used to too quickly. The water catches the skyline at sunset, and that is when I really noticed how quiet it is up here, even though you are right in the middle of JBR. There is plenty of space to just lay back and look up at the sky or, if you want, head down and you are not far from the beach at all.
Living in Murjan at Jumeirah Beach Residence is a lot about the local stuff too. The cafes are full by ten in the morning, and every evening you see families walking the promenade or kids rolling by on scooters. You never have to worry about parking as there are two spots tucked in for you, and the building is secure all day and all night. Restaurants, groceries, hotels—they are all just outside the lobby. When you want to get away, you look at the view and remember what makes Dubai special.
If you are after rare penthouse space with actual style and a sea view, this one could be it. The feeling here is hard to put down in just words. Really, the best thing is to come and see if it fits you. If you want to walk through or just have a chat about your options in Jumeirah Beach Residence, just reach out.
