Marsa Plaza, Dubai Festival City
Some homes just feel easy as soon as you step inside. This two bedroom apartment in Marsa Plaza at Dubai Festival City really got me. I actually caught myself just taking in the view for a while rather than writing notes, which always says something. There's just something about the way the light comes through the glass and the way you can see Dubai Creek winding along far below that is hard to describe. Not everyone cares about that, but honestly, I think a few minutes standing by those windows might convince almost anyone.
So you walk in, and it feels open. The space is generous. It is the kind of place where conversation just carries across the rooms in the best way. Sometimes apartments in Dubai feel a bit boxed in, but not this one. I found myself wandering from the living area to the balcony, sort of half daydreaming, half watching how the sunlight played off the water. The balcony faces out over both the city and that curve of the Creek. You might find yourself standing out there after dinner, shopping bags on the kitchen counter, just watching the lights bounce off the skyline. It is a view you really do not get tired of, and that is saying a lot given how much you see here every day.
The kitchen is brand new and actually feels like somewhere you would want to cook, not just order in. Sometimes you can picture yourself cooking something simple with the window open just enough for a bit of a breeze. And you do get plenty of storage and good counter space. I probably lingered in there longer than usual, just thinking of how easy breakfast would beโgrab a coffee, maybe, then just step onto the balcony to watch daybreak over Dubai Creek.
The bathrooms are simple but there's nothing basic about them. They've been done with that nice hotel feel, the sort of place where you feel good getting ready in the morning. You will notice, the finish just feels high end without being showy. Bedrooms are spacious. Both with those same generous windows that make you want to wake up early at least a few times a week just for the sunrise. No unnecessary frills, just that relaxed clean feeling you get in well designed homes.
Living here, you are directly connected to the Intercontinental Hotel. That is not just a name drop thing, you actually get access to their health club, which is one of the better ones I've seen in Festival City. If staying fit or having a spa next door is your thing, this is handy. The hotel link means fancy breakfasts if you ever want them, or last minute treats if you forget to shop.
A lot of people move to Dubai looking for that spot where everything is close but it still feels personal. This location nails it. Festival City has real day to day energy. Downstairs you have shops that go from designer to everyday easy. Cinemas that open late. Restaurants where you spot families during the weekend, or late night coffee after work. Evenings have that lively feel, sometimes you hear laughter as folks catch up outside. And you are only ever a couple of minutes from grabbing a cab or heading to places like Downtown or the airport. But when you get home, somehow, Marsa Plaza feels separate. Quiet in the best way.
If you're after a place with views that really do get better over time, and a layout that simply works, this might be it. You can imagine living here as much as you can see yourself showing it off to friends. The only way to know if it feels just right is to come see it.
