Sometimes the pace of Marrakech just slips away from you out in Palmeraie. The first time I arrived at Villa Surya, the clouds passed so lazily overhead that I almost forgot I was actually just ten minutes from the center. There is a spa tucked away on site as well. The scent of lavender drifts down from the little treatment rooms. You could even wander into the gym after, which is honestly a nicer spot for a morning workout than most hotels in Marrakech. People sometimes gravitate to the library on a hot day. The shelves are lined with books in every language and it's just quiet enough that you start reading and forget you meant to check your emails.

The rooms themselves play it cool. Not fussy and not cold either. It's easy to settle in, drop your bag and immediately feel at home. There are flat screen TVs if you want them, though I'd say more often you'll end up sitting outside or opening the doors so you can hear the birds. The terraces look right over the pool and trees, so you end up with greenery in every direction.

Kids? They love it here. There's space to run and corners to explore. Sometimes you'll see them kicking a football on the grass in the late afternoon. Evenings are peaceful. Dinner outside, maybe music, candles, and the sort of quiet that only happens outside the city center.

If you ever need Marrakech itself, you'll realize the center is just ten minutes by car. Café culture, markets, and everything else the city offers is close enough for morning coffee or a dinner out, but it feels like another world once you're back among the palms.
