Startling Canal View Five-Bed in Miami Beach At Flamingo Dr

Some places just have this way of making you slow down right as you open the door. This five bedroom villa on Flamingo Drive in Miami Beach hits you like that. Maybe it is the calm air from all the water around or just the quiet in these neighborhoods but honestly you start moving a bit slower and looking around. You can hear your own shoes on the floors. You can look right out and see the canal and it just reminds you how close you are to the best parts of Miami without all the buzz around you all the time. 

Honestly what you notice right away is there is so much greenery and so much water. The villa sits on Indian Creek and I stood by the edge for a while watching the way the sun hits the water. The views are just full of these living greens and the canal shining through them. Sometimes you catch a little breeze off the water and you just want to put your phone down for a bit and watch the birds or the boats go by. The quiet feels real here. Even though the Faena District Beach is just steps over the bridge you do not even hear the city unless you want to. Early mornings you might spot someone jogging by or see a couple of kids biking after breakfast. Evenings are this golden hour with all the lights from Art Deco buildings in the distance. It feels like Miami but in the kind of way where you can still breathe. 

The villa itself is big and open you will see it right away. Nearly nine thousand square feet is a lot but it does not feel cold. The architecture hits you with these glass walls and tall open spaces. The entrance is honestly kind of dramatic with a moat and a Koi pond all around and that double height glass doorway it is one of those places where people just stop for a second before they come in. When you finally walk inside there is a spiral staircase made of glass it curves up almost floating in the air and with the sunlight spilling everywhere it just glows a little brighter. 

The whole great area feels super open so if you are into just hanging out with family or having a few friends over nobody is stuck in a corner here. The kitchen is actually the kind you might want to cook in for real not just look at it. You can see the pool out the window so if someone is swimming you know. When I say the pool is right there I mean you step outside and it is part of the story with poolside eating a summer kitchen nearby and even an outside bar and cabana bath. If you are into those weekend BBQs or just a chilled night under the stars that rooftop is made for it. There is a jacuzzi on top and a bar so you can just sit up there with a drink and let the city lights do what they do best. 

But even on those days when you just want to be inside this place is stacked. There is a real movie theater not like a TV room but stadium seats and surround sound so movie nights actually feel special again. There is a gym with its own steam room and sauna. The master suite has this glass elevator up so if you are carrying a tray of pancakes on Sunday morning you will actually use it. One of my favorite little surprises is the jellyfish tank by the indoor bar. At first you think it is just a cool aquarium but then they move and you realize it is real. There is this feeling that someone thought of the small things. 

There is always a coffee shop nearby in Miami and everything you might need is just a few minutes away either over the bridge or tucked into these quiet neighborhoods. Sometimes you will get used to seeing the same friendly faces walking dogs or heading down to the beach at sunrise.
