Some homes slow you down right from the moment you push open the door. This waterfront five bedroom mansion at 4036 Island Estates Drive in Aventura did that for me and honestly I just took a breath and looked at how the water spills out across every window. You get this hush that feels a little like you're hidden from the world just the sound of water and sometimes a bird calling somewhere behind the pool. Island Estates is gated and it's one of those neighbourhoods where the palms always seem to catch the sun just right and every driveway seems to have its own quiet story.
Inside feels both big and cozy at once. The living room is something else. There's a custom fireplace so when the weather dips just a little you'll want to light it up and probably lose whole evenings chatting there. I really like the wet bar setup that's tucked into the corner. It's just asking for a tray of cold drinks and a few friends after an afternoon out boating. From the living area you can see clear through to the back yard. And that view honestly makes you want to get a second cup of coffee and just sit for a while. There's an actual water wall in the dining room. It sounds like a fancy feature but it really sets a calm mood if you're having people over or just winding down alone. I could imagine some good dinners there and the kitchen next to it isn't only for show either. It actually feels like a spot where you'd cook for real. Loads of space on the counters and a butler's pantry that comes in handy if you ever have help in the kitchen or just want to hide the mess before everyone sits down.
Upstairs you'll find four more bedrooms all with their own bathrooms and private terraces. I stood on one of them for a bit and watched the sun begin to slide away over the water to the west. On the other side if you're up early the sun comes in strong and bright. It's the type of thing you don't really appreciate until you wake up to it. The office on the main floor gives you that mid century feeling with big windows and warm light. I kept thinking it would be great for someone who works from home but also just wants a good spot to read or play music. It's not stiff the way some home offices can feel.
The outdoor space pulls you out again and again. The sundeck is just right for lazy weekends. There's plenty of covered patio if you like to sit out of the sun too. And if you like cooking outside you've got both a wood fired and a gas grill. Kind of rare to find both and honestly it just makes Sunday get togethers easy. There's a real pool and a jacuzzi for when you want to soak or watch the sky go pink over the Intracoastal. Sometimes you even see boats gliding by in the distance and it's hard not to imagine what stories they carry.
I should mention the home theater. I counted enough seats for ten people so it's actually made for real get togethers not just quick movies. There's a fifty foot boat slip that sits just a few steps beyond your front door so if boating is your thing you're really set. You could go from home to the water in just a few minutes. Bayside mornings sometimes have a bit of mist rolling across the community and if you like a bit of quiet early on it's pretty special. The restaurants and coffee spots in Aventura are never far. Sometimes you'll see families taking walks in the evening or kids biking slow loops between the homes.
Honestly words only go so far. This place kind of speaks for itself when you walk through. If it feels like it might be your next move just reach out anytime. At LuxuryProperty dot com we just want you to feel at home wherever you end up. If you want to see the mansion in person or have a question big or small send me a quick note.
