Sometimes a property just makes you pause, right from the second you walk through the door. That is exactly what I felt standing here in this double penthouse at Sierra Towers, up on the very top floor looking out over Hollywood and all of Los Angeles. You probably know this building already—it is famous for a reason. But standing up here in this raw space with those massive windows and honestly wild views, you start to get why so many people quietly want to live here.
This place is big, I mean really big. About seven thousand square feet on the inside, and there are seriously another four thousand of terraces just wrapping all the way around. So when they say it is the whole top floor, they are not kidding. The ceilings go up and up, nearly fifteen feet, and you can actually feel the air and quiet up here. When I walked over and leaned against the glass, you could see from the Hollywood sign out to the ocean if you shade your eyes for the light. Even downtown LA feels close but still far enough you are not hearing it.
The best part is, it is a blank canvas right now. Some spaces just give you a vibe all on their own but here, it really feels like you get to decide what this home becomes. You could do a real chef's kitchen with room for everybody to hover while you cook. Living rooms where you just drop on the sofa and watch the light crawl across the hills. Honestly, every single bedroom feels like it could have that view that people put on postcards. Just picture waking up in a room that opens out onto the terrace before breakfast and there is nothing in your way but glass.
And the terraces—that is something else. You could have morning coffee on one side with the Hollywood Hills spread out quiet and blue. Dinner with friends out back where you catch the sunset going pink over the ocean. Sometimes you even get that streak of cool mist from the Pacific if the breeze shifts. I spent a few minutes just watching the lights begin to come on down Sunset Boulevard once the sun started dipping. There was never any rush to leave.
Sierra Towers itself is a world all its own. Security is tight but not in your face. If you like peace, you will find it up here. Service quarters are separate, which makes things easier for everyday living or if you have help that needs their own space. Residents have access to everything you would expect—fitness, a beautiful pool, just about anything you need—and there is this calm way about the community. You step out and the best coffee shops are right down the road, and on most days the shopping on Rodeo Drive is only a few minutes in the car. Sometimes you notice people out walking dogs or just heading out for the evening and it is easy to forget you are living way above all the buzz.
I am not really a big believer in buying just for hype, but there is something special about this penthouse. Maybe it is the way the light hits the glass in the mornings, or just the silence that can settle over the terrace at dusk. Six bedrooms give you all sorts of possibilities—friends visiting, family staying long, or just plenty of room to breathe and create.
In the end, it is a place you have to see to know if it is for you. If you ever want to stand by that window and just take it all in, or you are curious about the possibilities, I am always around.
