Some places just make you pause a second before you even realise it. That is exactly how I felt stepping into this four bedroom penthouse at Sovereign Court in Hammersmith. It is got that peaceful hush when you first walk in and honestly I found myself just slowing down a little bit right at the door. What hit me was how much light you get and how the space is actually easy going even though it is pretty luxurious.
If you are into details you will probably notice things like the stone profiled skirting in the hallway straight away but what I keep thinking about is how this place simply feels lived in. The furniture is all stylish and up to the minute but nothing too flashy. There is just everything you need without ever feeling cold or staged. The kitchen especially caught my eye. I know people say they do more takeout than cooking these days but honestly this custom kitchen will have you changing your mind. There is a double sided island that makes you want to spread out a few bowls and cook something with friends or family. The stone worktops feel proper sturdy and the Miele appliances actually make you want to try baking that thing you never have time for. You will also spot the marble touches. I always think it is funny how marble can make a kitchen feel both modern and a little bit classic at the same time.
Bedrooms here are all en suite which is something I appreciate especially if you do not want to race for the shower in the mornings or you might have some guests. One of the bedrooms even has its own TV tucked away so you can have a proper lazy Sunday if you want. And there is smart home everything so one tap on your phone and you are controlling lights or music. It is the kind of thing you get used to pretty fast.
Now the terrace is actually where I kept wandering back to for a bit. It opens up wide and there is this built in barbecue space that sort of calls out for summer food and laid back evenings. I could honestly picture having friends over more often just to sit outside when the weather is right. You also get these open panoramic views looking out over Hammersmith and beyond. Sometimes you almost forget you are living in central London with all that space out there.
You are pretty close to everything here. I am always thinking about convenience so those two underground stations are worth mentioning. You are about a two to three minute stroll from your door to four different London Underground lines. It makes getting into central London or across the city just really straightforward. Plus right on Hammersmith Street you have bunches of stores and little boutiques. I have stopped by local bakeries and always seem to find something new every time.
Living in Hammersmith you get that classic London feel with the river just down the road. You can walk over to Furnivall Gardens for some green space and the view of Hammersmith Bridge is honestly one of my favourites especially around sunset. There are proper locals pubs around too like the Blue Anchor and The Dove. I have ended up there after showings and nobody ever seems in a hurry to leave.
For anyone after a real base in west London this penthouse at Sovereign Court hits the sweet spot between comfort and style. It works if you want a true primary residence but it also feels perfect if you are just looking for a second home to dip in and out of the city. You get privacy but never feel cut off which is a tough balance sometimes.
Anyway I could go on but the way you know if a place is right is you come and see it for yourself. If you want to walk through or just have a chat about what life feels like here give me a shout any time. That is really what we are about at LuxuryProperty.com. Making that next move feel easy and relaxed.
