Some places hit different right when you walk in. That is just what happened the first time I set foot in this four bedroom townhouse at Villa Amalfi, right on Jumeirah Bay Island. There is something about it that takes away the usual Dubai rush—you just end up slowing down a little. Maybe it is the way the light moves through the rooms or how you notice the sea stretching out when you glance beyond the terrace. Either way, it feels like a home where weekends and evenings could last a bit longer.

The first thing you might pick up on is the sheer quiet. You do not hear the city at all which is wild since you are barely a hop from the Bulgari Yacht Club and the Bulgari Hotel Resort and Spa. You could actually walk over for a coffee or just to watch the boats for a while. Life around here feels both tucked away and just connected enough. People walk their dogs in the evenings and sometimes you spot residents cycling along the roads heading down to the water. It is a tight knit little community and honestly you just feel safe and comfortable the minute you drive past the gate to Villa Amalfi.

The bedrooms are a good size and just have this relaxed easy feel. Lots of closet space which we all appreciate after a few moves and the bathrooms have that clean hotel vibe but not in a way that feels cold. The maid's room is actually decent enough for a guest if you find yourself with unexpected company. 

The private elevator is a detail that does make life easier on those days when you are carrying groceries or just want to avoid climbing stairs for the third time. Of course it's not something you look for but once you have it you get used to it fast.

The roof terrace is probably my favorite part. Some evenings it is just all sky and you forget you're in a city. The views of the water are pretty stunning and the Burj Khalifa sparkles now and then when the sun goes down. You could have friends over or just bring a book and stay there for hours. 

Life in Jumeirah Bay Island is nothing like the busier bits of Dubai. The coffee shop is never far. Beaches just down the way. Evenings are usually quiet. You see kids biking below and neighbors wave on their way out.
