A lot of people actually just go for slow walks in the evenings sometimes with kids sometimes with coffee in hand. You might bump into someone from next door and end up chatting for a bit. The swimming pool here is the kind that makes you want to bring your book down on a lazy Saturday. Gym is there too if you like to keep active. 

Another thing people ask is about getting around and really it is pretty easy. You are close to the Dubai Hills Mall which is handy for shopping or just grabbing something to eat. There are medical clinics and schools not far at all. Public transport is simple and if you drive the roads are smooth you are not stuck waiting anywhere too long.
