Some places just have that instant feeling when you walk in. This one bedroom apartment on the forty third floor of City Center Residences really does it for me. You step inside and everything just seems brighter. There is sunlight pouring in from these floor to ceiling windows and you get that wide open view. It is all Dubai right in front of you. I found myself just stopping for a second next to the glass, watching the city roll out and the boats drift along the canal if you are lucky with the timing. The vibe here connects with how life feels in Downtown Dubai. You are steps from cafes and it is easy to run down and grab a pastry if you do not want to start the day cooking. On my way in, I noticed a few neighbors heading out on bikes. There is always energy on the street without the noise coming up to your window. 

When you feel like you need a break, the infinity pool is the kind where you actually want to linger. It is the kind of place where you can float for a bit, watch the Burj Khalifa in the distance, and sometimes even forget you are in the thick of the city. For people who like to stay active, the gym here is definitely well kept and has plenty of natural light. Never feels too crowded. On the weekends, you could head up to the rooftop terrace for the best views of Dubai skyline. It is pretty easy to imagine spending an hour up there just recharging, even if you just bring a book. There is a private cinema and a gaming room so you do not have to go far if you want a night in with friends. 

There are small perks. The resident lounge feels a bit tucked away, nice when you want something quieter or if a couple friends come by. Guest suites are handy if relatives pop into town and plus the service here is proper. The concierge always seem to know your name and it makes things easy.
