Sometimes you can see boats drifting by and if you look up, the city skyline feels almost close enough to touch but not quite. It is private, too, since the island has its own guard gate all day and night. You feel a bit separated from the buzz yet never far from Miami's best bits.

Inside, it is clear this place was built for someone who likes the good life but in an easygoing way. The home first opened in 2017, and it still feels almost new. The design is by Choeff Levy Fischman, who won some big awards, but honestly, you just see nice spaces that flow into each other. The living and dining areas are open without feeling cold. I noticed sitting at the big glass dining table, you catch the view of the water almost everywhere you look. There are floor to ceiling windows so even cooking breakfast means you get that sunrise over the bay if you are up early enough.

It still feels like a place where you are meant to just kick off your shoes, especially with oak wood floors running through the bedrooms and hallways. There is space for everyone here with five bedrooms spread over a layout that makes moving around easy. Each space is done just right for stretching out, reading, or even sneaking in a nap if you like those. The garage fits two cars without feeling cramped. And there's still extra room for things you would usually just leave scattered around—beach chairs, paddleboards, that sort of stuff.

Now the backyard is where most of your time will probably end up. I spent a while just sitting by the salt water pool and spa with my shoes off. Birds come by now and then, and you get a view all the way out to the bay. Sometimes you almost forget your phone, which is saying something these days. You are really close to everything Miami has to offer but on most days, you will probably just want to stay put. People on Hibiscus Island still wave to each other from their bikes or when they bring a dog out in the morning. Quiet, calm, and just easy to enjoy.
