Some places just feel a bit lighter when you walk in and this three bedroom apartment at Creekside 18 in Dubai Creek Harbour is one of those. Honestly you almost want to stand still for a second and let your eyes adjust since the city is just there in front of you all the way to the skyline and even the water stretching out to the lagoons. I visited on a pretty sunny afternoon and I just found myself drawn to the edge of the living room and looking out the huge patio doors. The light inside…it sort of flickers around and feels good. Even though the place is fully furnished it never feels crowded or too showroom like. There are spots where you can sink into the sofa and just watch the birds. You notice how the kitchen actually feels like somewhere you might cook for real, not just heat up a ready meal. Everything is open plan so even if you're chatting with friends at the table or lounging in the living area, nobody's closed off.
The rooms here are laid out in a way that's easy to imagine life happening. The bedrooms are bigger than you might expect and all the built in wardrobes mean you're not bumping into boxes or tripping over stuff. I like that the master suite has its own balcony. You can step outside first thing and just breathe. In the evenings it's quiet enough to hear the city without all the noise. The bathroom for the master is pretty nice too, nothing too over the top but exactly what you need. There's a maid's room as well but sometimes people use these as an office or just extra storage. Easy to close the door and forget about laundry or work stuff when you don't want it in your way.
Here's something I really like. The apartment is up high enough that you never feel boxed in but not way up in the clouds where you start forgetting you're even part of the city. You get both lagoon and Downtown views. People sometimes bring a coffee out to the main balcony in the morning or a little meal in the evening and just let the sounds drift by. You see boats out on the water. Sometimes you spot kids biking near the promenade when the sun's not too strong. And the best part is, if you ever want a real break from it all, Festival City is just around the corner. Four minutes, maybe less. Good for shopping or trying something different to eat or just walking through the air conditioning when it's hot. And if you're working in Downtown or Dubai Design District, the short drive means less time stuck in traffic and more time enjoying being home.
The building itself doesn't make a big show of things but you'll notice the lobbies and corridors are wide and never crowded. The lifts are fast and you rarely have to wait. Security is always around but never intrusive, just friendly hellos in the morning when you pass by. Creekside 18 is part of what makes Dubai Creek Harbour special. There's that blend of the old and new city. Plus if you ever feel like exploring a bit more, you can walk to little cafes on the water or take a stroll by the marina, maybe even catch one of those pink sunsets that seem to happen a lot here.
Some apartments just feel right to live in and this is one of them. There's no rush here.
