What hits you first when you step inside is the light. There are these big floor to ceiling windows every way you turn and it just fills the home with sunshine even if the sky outside is moody. Main entrance is actually on the first floor which is pretty uncommon around here. Even as you arrive you get these hints of the sea and the Maures mountains poking through the glass. The dining space sits close to the kitchen so you can wander back and forth as food and company allows. The kitchen itself is more than just show. Real Gaggenau appliances and every cupboard feels solid. You get the impression someone actually enjoyed cooking here. This is the kind of kitchen where maybe you teach someone the old family recipe rather than just heat up a ready meal.

On the lower level you will find two extra en suite bedrooms. Perfect if friends come by or maybe for kids or grandkids who want their own pocket of privacy. All the finishes are top notch but not flashy. There is stonework everywhere and lots of beautiful wood. Walking barefoot in the winter is not a problem since there is underfloor heating everywhere. In summer you get cool air conditioning throughout the villa which makes everything easy. Security is covered too with an electronic gate and video system keeping things comfortable and private.

Step outside and the deck just wraps around the back of the house. The pool caught my attention right away. It is shaped like a T and has these awesome underwater seats if you want to just sit and watch the boats drift along the Gulf below. Shaded deck areas make long lunches or evening card games easy even when the sun is strong. The garden drops down in five green terraces which is not something you see much in Saint Tropez. And there is a spot for boules which feels like classic French living. Sometimes you see neighbors drop in for a quick game or laughter over a glass of local wine.

But it is that view that always gets me. Sea and mountains together almost everywhere you look. The neighborhood is calm. You will spot locals heading to the bakery mornings or kids and families strolling home from the beaches. Villa Sophie is a rare find for full time living or those long easy summers. You are never far from the best of Saint Tropez but honestly you feel like you have your own world here when you want it.
