Some places just have that certain energy when you step in. This villa just outside Milan is one of those. I'll be honest I walked through the old iron gate and you get a bit quiet just hearing the birds and seeing the gardens. There is something about these big Art Nouveau homes with all their little details and history you feel like you can breathe out when you get inside.
This is not your average house tucked away in Vigevano in Provincia di Pavia. It is close enough to Milan that you can actually pop in for a day at work or even a real coffee in the city whenever you want but it honestly feels worlds apart. The city noise somehow stops once you enter here. And if you ask me, sometimes that is what you want your home to do.
The house itself is grand not showy. It is about 10763 square feet spread over four floors so there's just a ton of space. You get five bedrooms and every single one feels private. Some open up to the views of the park while others overlook the little pathways where you sometimes catch a squirrel in the mornings. Nine bathrooms which is more than I ever thought anyone could need but with guests or family coming over it actually makes life easy. There are six kitchens which sounds way too much until you imagine big family gatherings holidays or just having a snack close to wherever you are reading a book. The three dining rooms actually feel like rooms you might gather in on a Sunday not those spaces that just get dusty.
There's a lift too which sounds kind of funny at first in an old villa but when you think about the four floors it is pretty practical. Stopping on the second floor I looked out from the panoramic tower and you just get this wide open view over trees and rooftops, sometimes you can spot the old cathedral in Vigevano. Sunrise and sunset look different every day. It is the sort of view people paint.
Now for the relaxing bit you do not just get one pool there are both indoor and outdoor pools so you can swim even during Milan's chilly winters or find your perfect place to cool off in those warm Italian afternoons. A proper sauna and a gym mean you could really take care of yourself without needing to step outside your own gate. And these outdoor terraces are something else. I leaned on the rail for a while watching the light shift through the trees and you just imagine quiet summer dinners or breakfasts with your morning coffee. Sometimes you might hear the neighbors' laughter float in but mostly it is just the breeze.
The gardens are bigger than you expect almost 5000 square meters that wraps around everything. Olive trees flowers little stone paths, even that classic Italian feeling where time moves slower. You can garden or not or simply sit with a book under a tree and listen to the quiet. You will barely guess that Milan is just forty minutes away. Kids would love running here I think or you might just enjoy listening to the rain against those big old windows.
There is a really secure enclosed garage too if you need it, enough for four cars which is handy if you have friends visiting or you are off on holiday.
This isn't a home for someone who wants to be in the thick of the city but if you want elegance real space and that feeling of escape with Milan's bright life still on your doorstep honestly it just works. You notice details like old tiles underfoot and the way rooms seem to flow into each other. It all just feels genuine.
The only way you'll know if it is right is to come see it for yourself. If you have a question or feel like a walk through, just let me know. We are here to help. At LuxuryProperty.com we like to think finding your next home should be as comfortable as living in it.
