Some homes just have a certain feel the second you catch sight of them. This studio villa at Address Hillcrest in Dubai Hills Estate really gave me that. Maybe it was the soft morning light bouncing off the water or just that rare sense of space you get from being close to the lake. Honestly, it's the first project of its kind in this area and as you step closer you can almost forget you are in the middle of Dubai.
You'll find the lake nearby is not just for show. I walked along one edge after seeing the villa and you start to notice a sort of quiet that you do not get everywhere in Dubai. There are only a small handful of these villas tucked around the water and it just feels private. When I looked out from the balcony I could see the water moving gently and someone sitting on a bench reading. Feels like nobody is ever in a rush here. And with only a few of these homes in the whole place, it almost seems like you're getting in on a secret right in the middle of Dubai Hills Estate.
So let's talk about the villa itself for a minute. You can see the modern style from the outside, but it is the inside where you start to imagine real life happening. The whole layout is open so it never feels boxed in or too formal. Light pours into every part of the space thanks to the floor to ceiling windows. I tried picturing a quiet evening here, maybe you open the balcony door and there is a breeze coming in from the lake. It stays bright without any effort at all and for me, it actually makes you want to spend time at home. The kitchen too is one of those places you actually want to cook, not just heat up leftovers. It is set up for someone who likes things to be easy, with so many places to stash things away so you never feel crowded.
The branded touches are not just for looks, they have chosen materials that feel solid when you lean on the counters or run your hand along the cabinets. Some villas look better in photos than in person, but this one really feels honest and comfortable face to face. You will notice small details as you wander through, like the way the closets are just deep enough and do not make you fight for space.
If you are thinking about lifestyle, Dubai Hills Estate is almost like its own city. You get access to this massive green park, I have seen families throwing frisbees or just laying out on picnic blankets most afternoons. The Dubai Hills Mall is so close it's tough to find a reason not to go out for coffee in the morning or catch a late movie at the biggest screen in the region. Even if you like a bit of excitement, there is a roller coaster inside the mall that honestly took me by surprise. But you still come home to the hush of the lake and the open green spaces, which is rare here.
Schools are right on the edge of the neighbourhood, so if you are planning ahead it makes for easy mornings, no long drives or stress. And with King's College Hospital almost next door, everything health related is simple. Even just outside the gates there is always someone jogging or families taking their evening walks. Some kids were biking by as I was leaving, waving at their friends. You start to feel like you could be part of an actual community, not just another villa behind a fence.
