Some homes really do slow you down the moment you step inside. I walked into this two bedroom villa in The Springs and, honestly, the very first thing I noticed was how quiet it felt. Not the kind of empty quiet you might get in a new building but more like the sort of hush you get when you are just away from the city a little and the air is cooler. And then you spot the water. There is a lake right out beyond the back garden and if you stand at the window for a little while you catch the way the birds skim the surface or just hang around in the reeds. You are never far from what you need, either. Springs Souq is close enough to walk on a not too hot day, or just hop in the car for five minutes. Supermarkets like Carrefour Spinneys and Waitrose are all nearby. I have seen families grabbing groceries after school runs, or folks meeting up for coffee at Costa or Starbucks over there. You do not really feel cut off out here.
