Some homes just have this easygoing feeling as soon as you walk in. This three bedroom villa in Alma, Arabian Ranches, does that straight away. You can almost picture yourself kicking your shoes off at the door and relaxing out on the veranda while the afternoon drifts by. I spent a while here not rushing around for once. You hear the birds somewhere in the garden and you can almost forget you are in Dubai.
The first thing I noticed is how close everything feels. The pool is basically across the street and you really are only minutes from JESS School if you have little ones. The shops and some really friendly little restaurants are just over the road. Coffee is always within reach around here. Sometimes in Arabian Ranches you see kids biking together in the evenings or neighbours strolling their dogs. It actually feels like a real community which is something people often say they want but rarely find.
Inside, the ground floor just flows. The living and dining space feels open and bright and as you walk through, these big glass doors invite you straight onto the veranda. It is shaded and there is a nice view out over the garden. You can see yourself having friends round or even just having a quiet breakfast out there as the sun comes up. The kitchen sits right beside the living area. It feels practical and true to life, with plenty of counter space for cooking or baking. I often see these kitchens and wonder if they are made just for show, but here you would actually want to cook. You catch glimpses of green from the kitchen window as well, which is always uplifting.
There is also a study tucked away on this floor if you need a bit of quiet for working from home or sorting life admin. The utility space underneath the stairs is another small touch you appreciate. Plus there is a guest washroom which is handy if you have people over.
Walking upstairs, the way the house is set out makes the bedrooms feel private and peaceful. Two of the bedrooms are a really good size and are sharing a bathroom that has actually been upgraded so everything feels fresh and modern. The master suite feels more like a little retreat. There is a generous amount of space and a lovely balcony that looks down over your own garden and catches the sun for most of the morning. Sitting up here with a coffee to start your day would quickly become a routine. En suite bathrooms always make mornings easier too.
You will notice all the doors and cupboards have been updated, and even the bathrooms stand out with newer finishes. Nothing about the house feels dated. There is a nice Spanish influence that runs through the community, and it comes out in little things like ceramic tiles and the soft colour tones that follow you throughout the villa.
The wider Arabian Ranches area is one of those places where you actually see people out and about, neighbours saying hello or heading over to the golf club for a quiet afternoon. You are right near the Arabian Ranches Golf Club if you fancy a walk or want to pop in for a bite to eat. If you like a clubhouse view, you get a bit of that charm from here too.
Honestly, the best thing is just how easy and comfortable it feels day to day. The plots here are a little larger than some other parts of town, so you feel less on top of your neighbours. Alma really does get its name right. There is a real sense of soul tucked into the streets. You kind of have to see for yourself.
