You ride up and up for what feels like forever and then you just walk out into all that space and light. Everything hits you at once. You have got water on one side and the city on the other and there is always something to look at.

I took my time wandering from room to room here. The feeling is a mix of cozy and spectacular which is not easy to pull off in a space this grand. You will notice how the place just wraps around the entire top of the tower. So from just about anywhere you stand you get a fresh side of Dubai. Some mornings I can imagine you would see the sun rising over the Marina and by the evening you could just as easily lean against the terrace railing and pick out the city lights as far as you can see. Those floor to ceiling windows really do change the whole feel. You do not get this kind of view in most of Dubai and with the octagonal shape that Hazel Wong designed into the space it somehow never gets boring. The 360 degree layout kind of invites you to slow down and enjoy each scene.

Let us talk living here for a second. The main living room is more open than you are probably picturing. There is this easy flow from the main seating area into the dining space and then the kitchen just opens up in the same big space. I actually stood in the kitchen for a while thinking this is one of those places where you actually cook and host. The appliances are serious and more than a few of the cupboards would take me weeks to fill up with groceries. There is a spiral staircase that sort of begs for those slow mornings when you want to take coffee upstairs and watch the world go by. You step out onto the main terrace and you get an honest breath of fresh Dubai air with those big sky views from Emirates Hills all the way across to the water.

Bedrooms here are a thing all on their own. On the main floor you will find two en-suite rooms that feel as private as it gets. Sometimes standing in one you almost forget you are high above the city. Each bathroom has these big custom tubs and there are those little touches like smart TVs that tuck away when you do not need them. The master suite on the next level surprised me with its two dressing rooms. Both are big enough to spend a few quiet minutes before a night out or just daydreaming. You also get a personal sitting room where I could imagine reading while the city moves on below. There is a bathroom with a Jacuzzi that honestly is as nice as any spa in town.

Up another flight and everything becomes a bit more about fun. Two big offices face right out over those famous Dubai landmarks if you ever need the inspiration. There is a home theater lounge where you can just settle in for movie nights and a bar setup for the weekend get togethers. Sometimes in the evenings you hear music or laughter drifting out when you walk past the tower.

The grand top level is where you go big. There is a full DJ booth for the parties and a dining space that will comfortably handle a full table of friends or family. That cloud-shaped chandelier is something you notice without even really thinking about it at first. Tucked in the back is a real industrial kitchen which just feels ready for celebrations. If you wanted to host a big dinner the space just makes it all easy.

This penthouse at 23 Marina really is one of Dubai Marina's true statement homes. Everything from the wood and marble finishes to the private gym and steam rooms and plunge pool out on the terrace makes each day here feel special but also not over the top. Everything is thought through but it does not try too hard.
