Some places just have a pace all their own and honestly this two bedroom apartment at Bulgari Resort and Residences on Jumeirah Bay Island got me to slow down and just breathe for a minute. You come in and right away there's this feeling of calm. I noticed it in the way the light reflects off the sea outside the windows even before you get close. The big doors open up and suddenly the water is all you see and hear. It feels a little bit like you're on vacation in your own home. It is rare to find something like that especially so close to everything Dubai has to offer.

Every time I walk into one of these homes at Bulgari I find myself stopping in the kitchen just to run my hands over the countertops you can tell these are built by people who care. Everything has a solid weight to it but nothing is fussy. The appliances are tucked away neatly but they are real ones you could actually cook a roast here or just as easily order in and eat on the balcony because the views are just too good not to share. The kitchens here actually feel like somewhere a friend would pour you a coffee and talk with you late into the night. Even with all the luxury it does not feel untouchable.

You know it is all thought through because there is storage in places you do not expect and the bedrooms have the kind of closets you wish you had at every stage of life tidy and not overstuffed. The bathrooms now those are somewhere you might spend a few more minutes than usual just for the space and quiet. In the morning the light comes in at an angle that makes you want to linger. There is a quietness in this home you do not always find in the city. Sometimes you can hear a faint sound from the marina if you leave the balcony open.

People here know each other in passing and you do see kids biking in the evenings or couples wandering down for just a look at the yachts in the marina. The Bulgari Marina and Yacht Club is just downstairs so if you have friends who love being on the water or even if you just want to sit at the cafe and watch boats it is all right there. There is a nice stillness even though you are not far from Dubai's city centre at all. That private bridge to the mainland means you are tucked away from the noise but if you want to pop out to Jumeirah or Downtown you are not spending half your day in traffic.

The bedrooms both have big windows and those sea views do something to you. You wake up looking at the water and it is the first thing you see. Around here you end up spending more time outside the weather gives you those perfect afternoons where you almost forget your phone. You see people actually reading or just sitting by the pool. The club itself is only open to residents and their guests so it does not get crowded even on weekends. Sometimes the best part is how unhurried everything feels.

What else you will pick up right away is the sense of privacy. Not in a cold way though. There's a friendliness to the staff and the other residents. There is 24 hour security but you hardly notice it. A few upscale boutiques and little restaurants on site mean you might not feel like leaving for dinner half the week especially with the Bulgari Resort just next door. That is only one of five Bulgari Hotels in the world so it really feels special walking past just to grab a coffee.

Everywhere you look there are little reminders that you are living somewhere designed with care. Whether you want something that feels like an easy primary home or a second place to get away in Dubai this apartment does it honestly without trying too hard.
