Stylish 1 Bedroom Apartment in The Pad, Dubai's Business Bay

Some places you step into and they just make you pause for a minute. That is what happened to me with this one bedroom apartment at The Pad in Business Bay. It is not only the shape of the building which leans a bit into the sky or those wild LED lights after dark that you can spot from almost halfway across the city. It is more the feeling you get even standing in the lobby that tells you you are in for something a little different. Sometimes all you need is a quick breath before heading up because the energy here is always moving around you and it keeps things interesting.

When you first walk in the apartment, the brightness almost makes you blink. There is floor to ceiling glass right across the living space so you hardly think about the walls. It all just flows together from the kitchen to the sitting area to the spot you might put a small dining table. I actually took a seat on the sofa for a bit and just watched the view. You get a full look at Downtown Dubai out those windows and the Burj Khalifa just stands there beyond your living room. Evening time is a surprise most days with those wild Dubai colours fading over the water and the lights starting to pop up all through the city. It is kind of calming even though you are right in the middle of everything.

The kitchen surprised me. You know how sometimes in city apartments the kitchen is mostly for show and not much else That is not the case here. Everything is fitted in neatly so you are not tripping over things but you get good workspace for cooking proper meals if that is your style. I could see myself making coffee there in the early morning with the city waking up under the windows or actually cooking something for people coming over on the weekend. The layout just feels right. You go straight from kitchen to dining to sofa and nothing feels squeezed in or awkward. That stood out to me since with so many one bedroom flats you end up shuffling around.

The bedroom is its own little zone. I noticed as soon as you step in you can tell it is properly sized which means you are not sliding sideways to get into bed or bumping into furniture. There is a private en suite too which always seems to make mornings and late nights a bit smoother. Sometimes if you peek through the curtains you catch glimpses of the Burj or just the city lights after dark. It might be my favourite part about this space because it is quiet but you still get that sense of being part of Dubai.

Living at The Pad puts you in the middle of Business Bay but somehow it feels a bit tucked away from the noise. You can walk along the canal in the evening or stop at one of the neighbourhood's coffee spots. Sometimes I just stand along the water for a bit and watch the city move. Plus taxis are close if you need to get to the Dubai Mall or head out for dinner. You are never far from anything and that really makes daily life feel easy.

The building itself also feels more relaxed than you might expect. There is always someone to greet you in the lobby but you still get privacy. There is an on site fitness centre and pool for when you want a quick workout or to cool off. Evenings at the pool can be peaceful with the skyline reflecting in the water and not too many people around. Sometimes it almost feels like your own quiet space in the city which is rare.

At around nine hundred forty five square feet this one bedroom apartment at The Pad really makes use of every bit of space. It just feels open and light. You stop thinking about the numbers and more about how easy it is to imagine living here. Sometimes you almost forget your phone and just sit by the window for a while.
