Some places just make you slow down the second you walk in. This two bedroom apartment in Kamoon over in Old Town gave me that kind of feeling right away. There is something about this community especially when you find yourself inside one of these rare low rise buildings surrounded by all that Downtown Dubai sparkle but with these surprisingly quiet stone walkways below and little garden pockets you almost miss if you do not look for them.
Honestly you can tell Old Town is different. Most people head down the Boulevard and kind of rush past it but those who know are always drawn to these pretty buildings. Kamoon has this gentle, old world charm that is really hard to find anywhere else in the city. I actually stopped to look up at the carved balconies for a bit before heading inside and the warm smell of the gardens lingers even near the entrance.
About this apartment itself—when you step into the main living area you notice right away how open it feels. The living room and kitchen sort of flow together with just enough space to make it feel welcoming not overwhelming. It is not one of those oversized places where things feel cold. Here it just feels easy to imagine an evening at home. Maybe cooking something real in the kitchen if you like to. The kitchen is actually practical you have all the cabinets and counter space you would need if you are not the takeaway every night kind of person.
You have two proper bedrooms both tucked away from the noise of the living areas. They are set up for privacy which you will notice matters if you have guests over a lot or just want your own space at the end of the day. Both bedrooms have their own en suite bathrooms. I will say you notice the sunlight everywhere because of those big windows nobody really blocks your light and even in the heat of the afternoon it just feels fresh. Open the balcony door and you get these peaceful views out over the community and you can see the souq and sometimes even hear a little hum of life nearby.
Living in Old Town means your mornings can honestly start with a wander down those stone paths if you want. I have seen neighbors heading out for a morning coffee and kids riding their bikes in the shade. And the best thing is you step outside and you are close to everything. You could walk to Dubai Mall or the Burj Khalifa maybe five minutes from your front door if you are not in a rush at all. I have stopped into the grocery shop at Souk Al Manzil more times than I can count after a late night. Life here is social but not rushed. There is always someone to say hi to by the pool or the gym if you use it.
Your new place comes with its own parking space so you can come and go as you like. The building itself is safe and has some of the friendliest staff around. Amenities like the swimming pool and gym are quietly tucked away so there is no noisy echo while you are trying to relax or get work done at home.
If you want to be somewhere that feels lived in but full of life at the same time Old Town is hard to beat. You notice families here but also singles and couples who just want a break from the glass towers. Kamoon is especially popular for people who actually want to know their neighbors and not live in another cookie cutter apartment. Sometimes you will see neighbors chatting in the garden and honestly it makes the building feel more like home.
There is a lot you get in this two bedroom apartment. But really the only way to know if it feels right is to come and see it for yourself.
