Some homes have this calm that kind of settles around you the moment you step in. That is what I felt with this two bedroom apartment in Shams at Jumeirah Beach Residence. You walk in and there is just something about the light. I honestly just stood by the window for a little while watching the sweep of the sea and Dubai Eye in the background and the feeling you get is not easy to put into words. Up on a high floor you get all these views you just do not find many other places in Dubai.
The thing is the apartment is not dressed up in a way that tries too hard. It is not fussy. Everything feels practical and simple in a good way. You get this big living and dining area that sort of flows outside to the balcony. It is one of those open spaces where you really notice how good the breeze feels at the end of the day when the sun is going down over JBR Walk and Bluewaters Island. Some evenings you just want to step out with a cup of coffee or maybe catch up with a friend. The view at night honestly makes you want to keep the balcony doors open a bit longer just to listen to the city and the sound of the sea.
In the kitchen you have exactly what you need if you actually cook real meals so it is not just for show. It is not enormous but it works really well if you like making the occasional pasta or just want to chop fruit and look out over the city. Places like this get used to little routines. You might wake up late on a Saturday and make some coffee before heading out to the beach because really the water is so close you almost feel like dipping your toes in every afternoon.
Both bedrooms get the full view which is a rare thing. The master in particular just wakes up with sunlight. That morning light comes through these big windows that almost feel like you are standing in a picture. Sometimes you will even see the planes floating in from afar or you will spot kids heading down to the sand with their families. Built in wardrobes in both rooms make it a little less cluttered which I like. The master also has a really inviting bathroom with its own window that keeps it bright through the day. Actually both bathrooms are quite nice and do the job without any fuss.
The living room sometimes feels like a little hideaway after a long workday. You get the idea that you could kick back and not think about emails and just watch the sun change the colour of the sea. Friends stopping by always seem to head straight to the balcony first which says something about the vibe here. Even though you are right in the heart of Jumeirah Beach Residence with all its buzz and places to eat or get coffee the apartment feels kind of quiet up here. You can always wander downstairs to the shops or walk along the promenade in the evenings and honestly sometimes you see families riding bikes or people just strolling with their dogs.
Finding parking is never a headache and your guests can almost always find a spot. There are always quick grocery runs nearby and honestly the convenience just creeps up on you—you do not need to plan much which is great if you have a busy life.
All in all what gets me about this apartment is how effortless everything feels. The beach right there the view you get from every main room plus all the action outside your door if you ever want it.
