Some places just feel like a good fit the moment you step inside. That is what I felt the first time I set foot in this one bedroom apartment tucked into the Princess Tower at Dubai Marina. It is a simple sense of space and calm that kind of settles in as soon as you pause in the living room. The view is a pleasant surprise too. You stand by one window and there is the Dubai street energy right below you a little busy a little lively but not overwhelming and then you go to the bedroom and out on the small balcony there is a partial sea view. On some mornings the light just hits differently here and you sort of notice yourself just standing and looking out for a while.
The apartment is set up for real day to day living. The kitchen is bright and feels more like a spot you would want to actually cook in not just heat up leftovers. I have seen a lot of places where the kitchen feels like an afterthought and honestly this one is better. You get tiled floors through the whole place which means less worry if you have a spill and it makes it feel clean and a little cooler which is always welcome in Dubai weather. The bedroom is just the right size to not feel cramped and the built in wardrobe actually fits a proper amount of clothes. I even opened it to check. The en suite bathroom has a tub which is something I know people appreciate more after a long workweek. There is also a separate guest washroom so you do not feel awkward having friends over or someone stopping by unexpectedly.
Sound is something we do not talk about enough with apartments but here you notice how quiet it gets. The windows are airtight and when you close them all the street noise kind of disappears and you can just relax or even get some work done. The living space does not have its own balcony but with the amount of window space and the bedroom balcony you still get plenty of light and breeze if you want it.
Princess Tower itself is a landmark on Dubai Marina. It stands above most of the skyline and you kind of have this feeling being up here of actually being part of something iconic. The building's facilities are what you probably hope for. There is a real gym with machines you would actually use even a yoga room and billiards plus indoor and outdoor pools. It is nice to have the choice to swim inside away from the sun or outside on those days when you want to soak it in. Families with kids are pretty well looked after too there are separate play areas downstairs and once in a while you see children on bikes just below. If you spend any time at the pool the little bar and coffee shop is a convenient touch and sometimes becomes a favorite weekend spot for residents.
What I noticed is that living here feels easy. If you want to head out Marina Walk is right there so you can grab coffee or a “after work” meal without really thinking about it. There are quite a few restaurants and the Dubai Tram Station is close enough that walking there does not feel like a chore. You can reach Media City Jumeirah Beach or Palm Jumeirah in just a few minutes and if you need anything extra Marina Mall is nearby with everything from cinemas to a bounce trampoline park and supermarkets for a late night ice cream run.
There is something about being close to everything but also feeling tucked away just enough. The apartment has this balance. Sometimes you almost forget to check your phone and just sit for a second with the view. You are not far from the city's best spots but your own place feels calm.
