Some places really pull you in before you have even taken your shoes off. This three bedroom apartment at The Residences in Downtown Dubai made me want to pause for a second and just notice the light drifting in from the windows. There is this feeling in the living area right as you enter where you almost stop talking for a second and just look out at the view. Honestly the view is out of this world. You get a full look at the Burj Khalifa and the fountains. At dusk it almost feels like the whole city slows down for a minute when the lights come on.
So, the apartment itself is actually quite big. You get half a floor to yourself which means your living spaces just breathe a bit more than most of the newer places downtown. I wandered into the kitchen and it surprised me how practical and open it felt. There are enough cabinets for actual cooks which is rare these days and a fridge plus a brand new oven, both already there for you. Someone must have thought about real life here because there is a semi closed kitchen set up so if you want to try something messy or just leave the dishes for later, you almost can. Plus from the kitchen you can slip into a family room where you might just want to hang out in your socks with a cup of tea or watch a movie after dinner.
The master bedroom really does feel like a bit of a retreat. You have your own balcony that faces the city. I stood there for a bit and it is odd how you can be right in the middle of Downtown Dubai and still feel kind of tucked away on your own. Walk in closet is there plus a bathroom you do not have to share with anyone. It just feels easy and works. The two guest bedrooms also have built in closets, which you will notice makes organizing everything just a bit easier. They share a bathroom in the hallway so that guest feeling is simple and welcoming.
One thing that always gets overlooked is the extra bits. This apartment has them. There is a proper laundry room, which I really appreciate because it makes life so much less cluttered. There is even a storage area where you can keep the extra suitcases or your old gym gear you keep saying you will use. I also spotted a maid's room which can easily turn into a study if you are not planning on having live in help.
Sometimes in The Residences you end up feeling spoilt for choice because they do everything right. The building's facilities are honestly some of the best I have seen Downtown. You get a swimming pool downstairs where you see families in the mornings and a gym with real equipment not just machines that look good in photos. There is a squash court and a play area too which means everyone finds their spot. But really what stands out here is how easy it is to get in and out of Downtown Dubai from here. You are in the center, but for morning commutes or quick trips to the coffee shop you will notice there is none of that frustrating city hassle.
One of my favourite things about being here is walking downstairs and feeling part of the Downtown Dubai community. You see people walking their dogs. Little kids laugh by the fountains in the evenings. The Metro station is close enough that you hardly need to drive unless you want to. Restaurants and shops are all around but you never feel crowded.
The truth is you can read about a place all day but you have to walk through it to know if it really feels like home. If you want to ask something or if you just want to stand on the balcony and catch the view for yourself, reach out whenever you like. At LuxuryProperty.com, I just want your next move to feel right for you.
