1 bedroom apartment in Building 22, City Walk

Some apartments just feel right from the very start and this one bedroom apartment in Building 22 at City Walk is definitely one of those. You walk in and something about the space just makes you want to slow down for a second and take a breath. You can tell right away that someone really thought about how it should feel to live here in this part of Dubai. There is a calm energy to it even though you are honestly only steps away from all the buzz and excitement that City Walk is known for.

The living room just makes sense. I actually sat down on the couch for a little while and noticed how the big windows pretty much fill the whole space with that Dubai light you get, especially towards the end of the afternoon. The furniture is modern but it does not feel cold or anything. It is the sort of place you could imagine coming home to after a busy day and just putting your feet up. There is plenty of room to have a few friends around or even spread out with your laptop if work follows you home sometimes. The open kitchen is a nice surprise too. So often with apartments you get a kitchen that is just there for show, but here you actually want to cook. All the appliances you could need are fitted in and you get loads of space on the counter which makes trying out new recipes a lot less stressful. While I was there I could just picture easy breakfasts at the counter with some fresh coffee from one of the shops downstairs. You will probably end up making City Walk your very own breakfast club since there are just so many options close by.

When you head into the bedroom, it feels even more like a retreat. The first thing you notice is the sense of space. Some one bedroom apartments feel tight but not here. There is room to move, lots of built in storage tucked away, and you get these big windows again so waking up feels natural, not rushed. The ensuite bathroom is really more of a spa setup. There is a big walk in shower and finishes that would not look out of place in a good hotel but you get it all to yourself. Honestly you can just take your time here and unwind after a long day out in the city.

One of my favorite bits is actually the balcony. It is proper city living but you still get fresh air and a view that never really gets old. You can look out across the skyline and just watch the city move. Sometimes in the evening you see the lights come on around you and if you are out there with a cup of tea it is easy to forget about your phone for a while.

As a resident you get access to so many amenities that really make life easier. There is a pool where the water always seems the right temperature and a gym that actually feels inviting not intimidating. If you are a routine person, you will like that everything you could need is on your doorstep. There are boutique shops if you feel like browsing local designers, and the restaurants in City Walk mean dinner can be simple or something a bit fancy, depending on your mood. I have seen more than a few people meeting up at the cafes with friends in the evening and honestly the whole area just feels safe and easy.

City Walk itself is one of those rare places in Dubai that mixes convenience and lifestyle just right, so getting around is never a hassle. Downtown is close, the Metro is not far and if you want the beach, it is just a short drive.

You only really know if a place feels right when you see it for yourself, to be honest.
