Tajer Residences, The Old Town Island, Old Town
Some places just land a certain way when you walk in. I found that here at this two bedroom apartment right in Al Tajer, which sits in the Old Town Island tucked into Downtown Dubai. First thing you notice—honestly—are these huge floor to ceiling windows. The light comes in soft and bright and kind of washes over all the rooms, even late in the day. When I last visited, I just stood for a while, looking out at the city and watching people move along the Boulevard. You pick up a real sense of peace, like you are part of the action but just enough removed to feel quiet too.
Inside, things feel open. The living area is bigger than you would expect, and there is this easy flow from the hallway straight to the balcony. The kitchen is not just for looking nice either. There is a proper oven and the cupboards are built in, so you could actually cook something here or just grab a coffee in the morning and lean against the counter if you feel like it. The balcony runs along a good section of the living area, and it became my favorite spot for a quick pause. It is not the sort of balcony where you have to squeeze past chairs either—there is actually space to sit with a friend or just let your feet hang over the edge.
The bedrooms feel like real retreats. The master bedroom has this walk-in closet, so you can tuck away the mess when you have people over. And when you wake up, you get the sunlight falling in just right, not blinding, just gentle enough that you are happy to start your day. The second bedroom has built in wardrobes and enough space to fit a proper bed and a table if you want to make it a study space. There are two bathrooms and a powder room too, which helps a lot when you have guests or when you just want to keep things private.
You get all the things you expect from living at Old Town Island but with a bit more character. There is a huge gym downstairs—I peeked in and folks were starting their early workouts—and then the swimming pools were already busy, both the big pool and the one for kids. There is a playground tucked away near the greenery, and sometimes you can see families having picnics when it gets cooler in the evenings. The building entrance is secure, but not in a way that feels like a fortress. Guards always give you a quiet hello.
What I like most is how close you are to the action but it still feels like its own village. You step out and in just a couple of minutes, you are at Boulevard street. That means bakeries, coffee shops, and proper restaurants—you do not have to plan ahead to grab a meal; you can just wander out. The Dubai Mall is right there if you want to shop or watch the dancing fountains. I have stayed late a few times just to catch families stopping for photos with Burj Khalifa lighting up above.
You also have access to traditional markets at Souk Al Bahar, and honestly, even if you are not much of a shopper, it is nice for just walking through in the evenings. The whole area is made for walking, and I have noticed a lot of people out running or biking after dark when things cool down. The lifestyle here feels kind of complete. Kids bike in the plaza after dinner. There is a spa if you want to treat yourself, and even small supermarkets so you don't have to drive out for basics.
The apartment itself is unfurnished which I think is good. It just makes it feel more like your own place right away. There is a card system for residents so you do not really have to worry about security. It is just easy living, honestly, and the vibe matches the look—something about it just feels old Dubai, with all the comforts.
The only way to really tell if it is right for you is to come by and see it in person. If you want to take a look or if there is anything you want to know, just reach out any time. At LuxuryProperty.com, we are here to help and make your next move easy—no drama, just real advice.
