There are floor to ceiling windows wrapping right around the living space and if you just stand by them for a while you can watch the city stretching out on one side and the length of Dubai Marina glittering on the other. I spent a good few minutes just looking out and sort of losing track of my phone altogether. Sometimes you forget you are in the middle of a busy part of Dubai when you are up here.

The kitchen feels like it was made for more than just putting something in the microwave. There is enough space you could actually try out a new recipe and not get in the way even if someone else is making tea or setting out breakfast. The outdoor pool is actually big enough to swim laps and there is a fitness centre that is about as modern as you get. Even people who do not usually like gyms end up using it here. Security is on all the time but you hardly notice them unless you need something. The staff know people by name and some residents chat a little in the elevator which is nice if you are the type who likes to get to know your neighbors.

The thing I like most is how you are really at the heart of everything in JBR. You can walk to Bluewaters Island, get an ice cream by the promenade or just go for an evening jog along the marina. Everything feels close but when you come home it is quiet and you can literally breathe. There are lots of coffee shops around so your morning routine is sorted and sometimes I have seen kids biking or people skating in the late afternoon when the sun gets lower. It has a proper neighborhood feeling even though you are right at the waterfront.
