Some homes just have a certain feeling even before you walk through the door and I got that right away at this two bedroom apartment in Al Basri at Shoreline Apartments on Palm Jumeirah. Maybe it is something to do with how easy it is to get here. You drive along that famous trunk road and you are already thinking about what life would be like living on the Palm. Then you find Building 1 tucked along the left side and it just feels like you are coming home.

Inside is where things slow down a bit. The apartment is unfurnished so you walk in and you can really imagine your own pieces here. There are coffee spots for that morning pick me up, fine dining if you want to meet a friend and a bunch of little places to pick up groceries or bakery treats. Sometimes you see kids scootering outside or you run into someone you know in the queue for a smoothie. The local vibe is relaxed, not rushed, definitely more Palm than city.

The Shoreline Apartments community feels pretty tight knit too. You will see the same faces sometimes in the lifts or at the gym and after a while it is easy to feel like part of it even if you are new to Dubai. The gyms are actually nice since they were redone a while back so actually working out does not feel like a chore here. Restaurants nearby are varied and some nights you just walk a few minutes, no car needed.

Living on Palm Jumeirah is its own experience. The city is right there if you want it but sometimes days go by and you do not even cross the bridge. It feels like a world away but you are never far from anything.
