Lincoln Square, London
Some homes just feel grounded right away. That is exactly how it was for me when I first walked into this two bedroom apartment at Lincoln Square in London. Even if you know the city well, it feels different here. The Royal Courts of Justice and the London School of Economics are right outside your window. Every day you get this little reminder of how much history and life is all around. I actually stood by the window for a while and just watched people drifting in and out of Lincolns Inn Fields. You get this calm, settled feeling that makes you want to slow down for once. Honestly, it just feels like you are tucked away from the rush of the rest of London.
There is something special about Lincoln's Inn Fields that you do not find everywhere. It is old London without feeling stuffy. You step up to Lincoln Square and the building really makes a statement. I mean the stone faรงade and the details in the metalwork catch your eye straight off. It is got just enough modern twist to feel current. The gardens and little water features set just outside the main entrance are at their best in the late afternoon. They make the simple act of coming home feel like a bit of an event. You walk in off the street, past these hedges and lawns, and you can almost forget you are in the heart of the city at all.
Inside, the layout of this apartment makes life simple. There are two clear spaces. The living room and kitchen flow together in a way that feels really open. Kitchens sometimes feel a bit tucked away or even a little too fancy to use every day but this one is honest. It is where you actually want to put the kettle on or cook something proper without feeling like you are poking around in a showroom. The living area opens straight out to a big wide terrace. It runs the whole width of the apartment. I kept thinking there is space out here for a couple of chairs and a table, even a glass of wine in the evening when the sun is low and Lincolns Inn Fields finally quiets down after a busy day. The city feels miles away.
The bedrooms are separated off on the other side. In central London you do not always get a sense of space but these rooms surprised me. The main bedroom has a walk in closet that is easily big enough to lose a few coats and still have room to spare. Warm wooden finishes and calm colours keep it from feeling like too much. The bathrooms are done up with stone counters and a feel that leans luxury without shouting about it. Everything just feels comfortable which is sometimes hard to find in the centre of London.
What stands out about living at Lincoln Square is how much extra space you get to really live. There is over seventeen thousand square feet of shared space for residents which you hardly ever find in a spot this central. You are not just getting an apartment you get a lifestyle. There is a club room that is actually used by people not just left empty. You will see people reading or just talking over coffee. There is a proper library if books are your thing. For bigger evenings you have dining rooms you can use for hosting friends but you do not have to clean your place top to bottom. The games room is usually full of quiet conversation or the clatter of cards and there is a cinema room for late night movies. I also noticed the gardens right in the middle are kept up beautifully. Everything feels looked after and taken care of without being stiff or formal.
You even get a residents lap pool and sauna. The pool is kept at just the right temperature and honestly it was easy to picture early morning swims before you walk to the office or just taking a dip after work to clear your head.
The best thing about this location in London honestly is that everything just feels close. Grab a coffee around the corner or take a walk through Lincolns Inn Fields. You get students from LSE, families, dog walkers, all sorts passing through here. Even when the city gets busy this place feels like a pocket of peace.
