BLVD Crescent, Downtown Dubai
Some homes just make you stop for a second and really look, before you even think about furniture or where the TV goes. That is how I felt when I first opened the door to this two bedroom apartment at BLVD Crescent in Downtown Dubai. There is a real calm in here. Light spilling in from the floor to ceiling windows, shining off the easy colors on the walls and across the living room. You just want to walk over and see the city spread out in front of you. Sometimes you can hear the sounds from Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard below, but way up here it all feels removed. There is something about feeling right in the middle of Dubai but also having your own quiet spot.
The layout is open so everything connects—kitchen flows right into living area, and it is the kind of kitchen where you might actually want to try cooking something from scratch, not just hit the microwave. The appliances feel solid and not just for show. If you open the windows just a crack, you pick up a bit of breeze some days and in the evenings, sometimes you see tiny fireworks over the skyline if there is a celebration nearby. The bedrooms are separate enough from the main living area that if someone is up watching something or having friends over, it does not end up bothering you in your own space. Each bedroom feels private, the built-in wardrobes are pretty big and the master bath is one of those places you could stay for ages, just for the shower or the way the sunrise lights up the room. There is also this cool view right from the bed, so you wake up and see downtown waking up with you.
It is honestly everything you expect from Downtown Dubai end of things, except sometimes you get these little surprises—a quiet morning with a coffee by the window, watching the city actually slow down for a second, or coming back late and finding that it feels safe and friendly even when the street is full of people. Some weekends you might just walk out and be at the Dubai Mall in less than ten minutes chasing a bite to eat or see something at the Opera District without even needing a car. It just feels easy living here, and you end up making your own routines because the area has everything, including so many spots for coffee or early breakfast if you ever work from home.
The building itself is kind of a conversation starter. The Art Deco style outside gives it this old school vibe, but inside feels brand new. There are two towers joined by a podium, which is where you get some of the fun stuff you might not expect—interconnected waterways that kids seem to love, outdoor seating peppered around among small green corners, and this crazy cube shaped gym that actually gets used, which is not always the case in Dubai apartments. Sometimes you see kids running around after school in the play area or someone just reading in the lounge chairs. The retail outlets downstairs can save you a trip for basics, and the security guys are always there with a quick hello. It is just one of those places that manages to feel lived in and friendly without losing a sense of luxury.
If you are thinking of making Dubai your main home, or you want a second place right in the middle of everything, this two bedroom apartment at BLVD Crescent might just feel right. But honestly, the only way to really know is to come over and see it for yourself. I can try to describe the way the morning light hits the living room or how the building feels at night, but until you walk through and just settle into one of the couches for five minutes, it is hard to explain. If you have questions or just want someone to walk you through with no pressure at all, let me know. That is what we try to do at LuxuryProperty.com—help you find what feels right and make your move as easy as it can be.
