Anantara Residences, Palm Jumeirah
Sometimes a place just feels like a break from everything busy and noisy the moment you walk in. That is exactly how this two bedroom apartment at Anantara Residences on Palm Jumeirah settled on me when I last visited. The sunlight kind of creeps in along the floor in the mornings and you can hear little bursts of laughter from the pool area down below if you open up the balcony doors. It took me a good while just standing out there staring at that view the Burj Al Arab doing its thing and the lagoon water looking so calm you almost forget how close you are to all the city buzz.
Inside you get proper space. With over eighteen hundred square feet this is not one of those tight apartments where you always feel your elbows bumping into things. Both bedrooms are large and they each have their own bathroom so no early morning traffic jams when everyone is trying to get out the door. The main bedroom feels tucked away just enough so if you want a quiet day you can really just unwind here. I remember someone left a book on the bedside table when I last went around and it just looked right like this is somewhere you actually slow down and finish a chapter.
The kitchen genuinely feels like a place you would cook more than just a late night snack there are polished stone surfaces and these quality integrated appliances that actually look easy to use. You do not have to be a chef but if you have people over or just want to try out a new recipe you can do that comfortably. The living area flows right out to the balcony so if you like a morning coffee or even a weekend breakfast outside that is no problem at all. There is also a separate guest WC which is handy when people drop round you are not scrambling to clean bedrooms.
Now this apartment is unfurnished which for me honestly is a bit of a win. You get to put your own stamp on things from the sofa cushions to the art. There is something good about making a place yours not just living in a hotel style setting that looks lovely on Instagram but never really fits you. Speaking of hotel style you still get full access to all the five star amenities you expect at Anantara. Three swimming pools if you are like me and can not ever decide which view you want or you can just spend the day hopping between them. The gym is big too much more than just some old treadmill kind of place and if you ever want to try something new you see people out jogging along the gardens or heading down to the private beach with their paddle boards. I have definitely noticed that even if you are not a full on fitness person it just feels easier to stay active here probably because it never feels like a chore.
There are casual perks as well like having a small supermarket inside the development so you do not have to run to a huge store if you just want some fresh bread or milk for tomorrow. Plus dining is sorted with easy walk options whether you want to sneak out for a nice dinner or just grab a coffee. On weekends you notice families down by the beach and sometimes a few kayaks out on the water. I always see at least one friendly neighbor on my way in and out people just enjoy it here. The parking is underground so you are out of the sun which makes a huge difference in the Dubai heat if you have done a summer here you already understand.
It is not flashy but everything just works the way you hope it would. There is real calmness in this part of Palm Jumeirah which honestly is a surprise when you realize the city is so close. The only way to really know if it fits is just to come and walk through it. Take in the sounds smell the sea and see if it feels right.
