Six Senses, Felicite Island
Some homes just bring you into the moment right away. This three bedroom villa at Six Senses Felicite Island does that without even trying. You arrive up this winding path with the sound of the Indian Ocean rolling in down below and there is just that hit of breeze as soon as the driver opens the door. I actually stopped and leaned against the wall outside for a minute before even going in. It is hard not to let it all soak in. The clifftop setting gives you panoramic views from nearly every spot. The ocean comes into your day here whether you want it to or not.
The villa itself did not go the route of feeling too done up or formal. Richard Hywel Evans designed this one so it sort of nestles into the cliff face and those clean grey brick walls blend with the rocky edge around them. You will notice the modern lines and metallic features outside especially when the sun goes down. That light hits everything and there is this soft gold wash everywhere. It is hard to explain if you have not seen it but it just feels natural.
Inside you get that same sense of air and light. The main living room pulls you in with soft caramel oak floors and these sliding glass doors that open right onto the breeze. It is somewhere you actually want to sit with your feet up on the sofa or even stretch out on the floor if you feel like it. One of my favorite parts is the glass ceiling above where light filters down from the pool on the upper deck. Sitting there, just watching daylight flicker across the floor while you have a coffee, makes time slow down a little.
The kitchen in this villa is not tucked out of the way or left as just for show. It has that practical feel like someone actually does cook there. Everything is close to hand. If you open the kitchen doors you step right out onto a big wooden terrace that just calls for having breakfast outside or swimming lengths in the infinity pool first thing when the ocean is still quiet. The fragrance from the garden drifts through the open rooms in the evening and you get that mix of salt and green leaves. Sometimes I just sat by the edge of the pool and let the air settle. Here, you honestly do forget your phone and what time it is.
Every bedroom in this Felicite Island villa has its own en suite and you will spot the little touches everywhere. Cool marble under your feet as you step in from the terrace. Every shower is open and generous but still gives you your own space. You will not hear much here apart from the ocean and birds. Even early mornings feel easy, with soft pale light and the distant rhythm of waves. The master suite is up on the first floor and really is its own place. More ocean in every direction through big glass windows and when you slide them all open you get straight breeze and that sense of space you cannot fake.
I think one of the gentle surprises here is just how private Six Senses feels. You might see someone pedaling by on a bike or walking down to the resort but mostly it is peace and quiet with nothing rushed. The island itself helps you slow down. Sometimes you hear laughter from a kayak on the far side of the bay or watch seabirds sweep along the clifftop. The coffee shop is not far so your morning routine is easy. Service here takes the complicated bits out of everyday things which is honestly worth its weight.
There is no perfect way to describe how a place like this feels. You kind of need to see the views and stand by the infinity pool or just listen to the sound in the background for yourself. If you think a three bedroom villa at Six Senses Seychelles could fit your next step, or you just want to talk through what living on Felicite Island is actually like, get in touch whenever.
