Golf Place, Dubai Hills Estate
Some homes really do have that sense of space that makes you slow down a little when you walk in. I remember stepping into this six bedroom villa at Golf Place in Dubai Hills Estate and just pausing for a second. Maybe it was the way the light came through the windows or maybe it was the soft hush from the golf course outside. It just feels like every part of the house is meant for actual living, not just for show.
This home sits on one of those bigger plots that you do not always find these days in Dubai. It is huge honestly and you notice it before you even get to the door. Almost feels like its own bit of the community just for you and your people. Out the back you get these really open views right over the golf course. Sometimes in the late afternoon if you stand on the terrace you can hear the soft thud of a golf ball landing on the green not too far away. And the best thing is you are not closed in by any neighbours so you get this whole wide sky feeling all day.
The main living area is shaped like an L and wraps itself from one end of the villa to the kitchen which truly feels like a place where actual meals would happen not just heat something up and get on with your day. I could see two families here all chatting and cooking and not getting in each other's way. The dining space is tucked right in the middle so you can wander in and out and still be part of everything. There is a smaller second kitchen off to the side as well which is really handy if you sometimes get a bit carried away with your cooking or you like to keep things separate when people are over. The rooms on this main floor flow naturally from each other so you do not have that awkward “what do I do in here” feeling.
If you ever have family visiting or friends dropping in from overseas there is a guest bedroom right downstairs. Actually I stood by the window in there for a bit and watched the early morning bring out a few walkers and some kids riding their bikes along the estate roads. You also get a maids room here on the ground level if you need a bit of extra help with everything. Out back is a good sized pool and patio that feels like an easy place to just sit down and call it a day. I can honestly imagine lazy weekends here where you lose track of time just being outside.
Upstairs is all about having your own space. Every bedroom has its own bathroom and I like that you also get an individual balcony for each one so there is not that rush for the best room. There is a big outdoor terrace too that sits in the middle of the upper floor. It is easy to get to no matter which room you are in so you end up spending evenings just looking at the view or catching up with friends under the open sky. You might even spot the city skyline on a clear day. The wood and stone finishes throughout do give a warm feeling it is comfortable in that slightly understated way that tends to last.
Dubai Hills Estate is a place where everything seems to just work. The school run is easy because the international schools are right nearby. There is always a good cup of coffee close at hand in the mall or down at the retail plaza. If you need anything at all you are minutes from Central Park, groceries or even state of the art healthcare if life ever throws you something unexpected. I have to say there are not many communities in Dubai where you feel all the pieces fit together so easily.
Homes like this are not just about how many bedrooms or what the view is like. Sometimes you have to walk through and get a sense for the rooms for yourself and see if they match the way you imagine living here. If you are curious about this villa at Golf Place or if you feel like you want to see what Dubai Hills Estate is actually like in person let me know.
