Some homes just stay with you even after you leave and this six bedroom villa in Garden Homes really has that effect. I walked in and just stood by the open living area for a bit. Sun was streaming in through the big windows and I could see the blue of the Arabian Gulf outside. I will be honest it took a second to get used to the fact that you are not just looking at the water you can actually walk right out and feel the sand and the sea air. It is that kind of place where the line between inside and outside just kind of disappears.

The villa is set in Palm Jumeirah which you probably already know is one of the most famous places to live in Dubai. People always talk about the skyline but when you are here you realize there's another side. It is quieter. Sometimes you see families walking along the street or you hear the distant sound of someone swimming in their pool. There is a community feeling that is rare in the city. You just notice it especially in the evenings when the air cools down and maybe you catch a few kids riding bikes. The coffee shop is never far if you want to sneak out for a break in the morning or pick up a pastry.

The house itself feels big but never too much. Six spacious bedrooms all en suite so everyone gets their own space. I kind of like that every bedroom has its own personality. There are these bold colors and every room has touches that make it feel alive but it is not overdone. The décor gives you hints of the past with some Arabesque details here and there but all in a really modern way. You get a lot of sunlight and there are these soft corners and different seating spots that seem like the type of place you might want to sit and read or maybe just call a friend. Nothing is cold or formal it just feels like a home that can handle big family dinners or quieter moments on your own.

The open plan living area really stands out. If you cook or even if you just like to hang out while someone else handles dinner the kitchen is properly inviting. Real wood cabinets plenty of working space good appliances and it actually feels like a place where you would cook for more than just one night. I imagine breakfasts here must be warm and easy with the sea out your window and a good breeze coming through. Sometimes you almost forget your phone.

Outside is honestly what sells it for me. The private pool is bigger than you might expect and surrounded by a deck with those comfy seats. You can just walk out barefoot onto the landscaped garden. I can picture morning swims or watching the sun go down from the edge of the water. The private beach is right there. So you just wander down for a swim or walk along the shore and you have that feeling where Dubai is buzzing somewhere behind you but here it is only peaceful.

The plot covers a generous seven thousand square feet and you have five thousand square feet of space inside. Even though this is a short term rental you get a strong sense that it is more than just a holiday house. It is somewhere you could properly settle in for a season or two maybe more. You will find space for family or friends to visit and everyone seems to find their own favorite spot to hang out.

And the best thing is it is unfurnished right now. You can bring your own touch to every room. Some people really like making a place feel like theirs even if just for a few months.
