Tenuta Con Vista, Florence
Some places sort of catch you at the front gate. You stand there and just take a big breath in. Tenuta Con Vista in Fiesole is one of those. I remember driving up just outside Florence, and the hills kind of open up in front of you. They are that shade of green you only see on postcards or in old paintings. It feels almost unreal at first. Honestly, by the time you reach the main house, you already feel like things are slowing down a bit. Birds are outside. The air feels fresh in a way you do not get inside the city.
This villa is more than just a property for sale in Florence. It has seven buildings all spread out across twenty seven hectares. That is over two and a half million square feet if you want to count it, but it just feels big in a good way. The main villa sits almost at the top, so you can look down into the valley. I spent a little time by the window and the views really do stretch out. There are olive groves rolling in gentle waves and the first time I was here the light hit everything just right. Sometimes you forget your phone in your pocket and just stand there.
Inside, it has this natural elegance. The entrance is wide and open so you never feel boxed in. Walk in and the living room feels like home right away. There is a fireplace that is not just a decoration piece. On a cool evening it probably becomes everyone's favorite spot. Look up and the beams have that old world charm and sometimes I do imagine all the stories these walls have seen. There is a little bar in the corner and that is perfect for slow evenings when friends decide to drop by and nobody is thinking about the clock. From the double loggias the view is just something else. That is what makes people fall in love with Tuscany, I suppose.
If you actually like to cook, the kitchen feels like somewhere you would genuinely roll up your sleeves. It is on the scale of a real restaurant, so you can imagine family dinners or even bigger parties set up here. I kept thinking you could host a summer wedding on the lawns outside. There is a separate dining hall which is really great when you have more people around. Plus, the covered pavilion outside just calls for those long lunches that turn into dinner. The garden seems to carry on forever, and there is attention to the way the paths curve under the trees. You notice flowers planted in small groups and if the breeze is just right you will catch a bit of scent as you walk.
Bedrooms are upstairs, each one with its own bathroom and windows that actually open to the hills. You get privacy, fresh air, and morning light. Sometimes a quiet space is all you want, and the attic above could make a lovely studio or little reading corner. I think it just depends on what you love.
It is not just the main villa though. There are four apartment buildings close by, each with one bedroom spaces and some with up to three bedrooms. Maybe you have family visiting often, maybe you like to have space for guests or staff. There is even a building set up with a studio on the ground floor and a private home above. It works for so many different lives. Sometimes I wonder if a group of friends might set up a retreat here or a creative family takes over the whole place and never looks back.
Stepping out, the pool is set along the hillside, so while you swim you are watching the heavens open up over the valley. You see swallows in the morning. Some days you might walk along the garden and forget you are close to such a famous city. Coffee from the village is not far and the way locals greet you feels real. Florence is close but it stays just beneath the horizon, so life feels peaceful, but never disconnected.
Tenuta Con Vista is not just stone and brick. It feels like you could write your own story here, whether that is as a family estate, a boutique getaway, or maybe just a place to slow down from the world. The only way to really get it is to come and walk around in person. If you want to ask anything or step inside for a bit, just reach out.
